Why are soap s/L's always Anti-Climactic?

Tina & Peters s/L for example. Months & months of build up of hiding the affair & then in 1 episode its all undone in a rush. I rarely ever enjoy an ending to a S/L anymore because the climax always feels rushed. Hayleys death was the same .

Also I don't buy that Rob would go to that length for his sister considerin he despised her not too long ago (after conning him out the business) .

Probably because of spoilers and the amount of info we get in advance in the media. We know what the build up is to various SL's instead of watching and wondering where the writers are going with this.....

It's a shame, I can't stay away from spoilers, but I also know it spoils things for me. Not only are surprises not surprises, but even gently building directional stories aren't that anymore but the countdown to the actual spoiler....

ye & the execution of it is always over in a hurry. Peter revealin the afffair to his wife Carla 'just like that' after months of frettin about her findin out. And if that wasn't enough Tina pays for her actions immediately after in the next scene. All in 1 fell swoop. The climax is always contrived ..

You've answered your own question. Months and months of build up, an anti-climax is inevitable. If what you were watching was 100% new information it's bound to have more of an impact on you as a viewer.

..oh for the days of no spoilers, no leaked SL's, no hint of who is leaving

Before the age of the internet - the newspapers were the big spoilers!

I don't believe Rob would go to that length to protect his sister. Everythin just happened so fast; Peter admitting the affair felt completely rushed just to miraculously coincide with tina's death.

I'm just disappointed that Carla and Tina didn't get to have a cat fight. I feel cheated!
