The story of davros

I'm currently watching GOTD on horror & a thought occurred to me. Where genesis focuses upon the creation of the daleks, there has never been a story, or not to my knowledge of how davros came into being. I think this would make for an interesting story. What do others think.

I believe that RTD originally scripted a scene in the Stolen Earth/Journeys End which would have shown his origins and how he was injured, although I may be wrong. However I recommended that you explore the Big Finish audios which delve deeper into Davros' origins and childhood.
I also think it would make a great story to see how he became the Davros he was in GOTD though.

Ignoring any "canon" arguments for the moment.

Check the Sixth Doctor Big finish story "Davros"

and Big Finish also has an origin of Davros series called "I, Davros"

would be great to see a fully fledged on screen davros origin story. Could work in the same sort of manner as genesis, with the doctor going back to save davros from his accident or whatever else went wrong in his past so that he never becomes the sort of man who would create the daleks.

Obviously, as with genesis though, the doctor would ultimately fail, but we would have got to see how it all came about.

yes the Doctor couldnt really succeed as it would create paradoxes everywhere that Davros or the Daleks feature!

It would unwrite the Time War, for a start, and pretty much every event in the Doctor's life. That makes me fairly sure it would rip the Universe apart.

I'd love to see a Davros origin story, maybe with a pre-mutated Davros; The Doctor shows real respect for but knows how he'll turn out. It's a shame the scene got cut from Journey's End, but at least that leaves it open for a full story based around it

I'm guessing that such a story would have to justify why Davros in GOTD doesn't know the Doctor. Ie like in Wolverine .. Massive trauma to his brain leading to him losing all memory??

Either that or they could do it in such a way where the doctor tries to change him, but ends up making him worse so then has to go back and stop his past self getting involved so at the end of the episode he was never there at all.

There's a big finish audio called Davros. All about the politics of Skaro and a young scientist who betrays his scientific colleague, steals her idea for genetically engineering a race to survive. Anyway I don't want to give it away (and it's been a while since I've listened to it) but it doesn't end well

(Well the audio ends well, I don't mean that. Must enjoyable!)

If you can't be bothered to listen to it here is a detailed summary of the story http://www.drwhoguide.com/who_bf48.htm

Watching GotD again made me realise what a great story it is. There is simply no way such a violent and dark 'Doctor Who' script would get made today. And people say classic Who is kids' TV...

ETA: Julian Bleach's Davros in 'The Stolen Earth' was easily the highlight of an otherwise silly episode. I'd love to see him come back in another story.
