Does anyone bother? I just got a Nexus 5 which has Gorilla Glass 3 but still can't make up my mind whether to get one or not?

Thanks

Lots of threads on this.

The screen is a lot tougher than the screen protectors. I always found that they scratched quite a lot. Then I peeled it off just as I sold it.

I've had my nexus 5 since launch. No scratches at all. Not a thing. I keep it in it's own pocket, no keys or coins, but I'm not delicate with it. I take down the farm, gardening, diy etc.

Only thing that would make me put a screen protector would be going to a beach. Sand is an issue.

I gave up on them because they looked tacky after few weeks & you could feel the resistance when you swipe. I got a full case with a flip cover that acts as a stand too for my note 3.

Nope. Straight in the bin when I get a free one. Never scratched a screen.

Hmm, I have bought a pack of 3 for £3.99. Mainly because it's an expensive device. They are decent ones so should hopefully not even notice they are there.

You can try one of them and if you don't like it, take it off!
As long as you can put it on without it bubbling!

When I've been super careful putting screen protectors on in the past, at least one speck of dust/dirt ends up wedged inbetween. Or as someone else said, a tiny air bubble.

Maybe I'm too OCD, but those issues would drive me mad and I would end up peeling it off after a few days.

I just buy the cheap screen protectors off Ebay (usually 4 or 5 for a quid) and put a new one on when it starts to get grubby.

The one I have was only £4 and I think it adds a layer of protection to the screen as it would take any impacts if it fell screen down

I always have one on, yeah they may not stand up to major knocks and scratches, but it is better to scratch a removable protector should anything rather than permanently scratching the screen itself.

Not the cheapest option but my mate just had a ghost armour protector. Apparently has to be heat shrunk on but I couldn't tell it had a protector on until you look really closely.

Interesting. I'm not sure you can temper glass so thin. but if it works it works.

The goes without saying. but it is not as simple as that.

it is very difficult to scratch modern screens. and it is surely better to not scratch it and not have a protector?
