Only one of the 5 Golden Buzzer acts got through (although I'm sure Paddy & Nico would've if they hadn't withdrawn) and the public never really got behind them.

I think the producers missed a trick by not putting one on each night. There was enough for 1 per semi final but for some reason they put two on during one semi final Oh and none of them even got the end pimp slot... you'd think they would've given it to them if they were specially chosen by the judges... but no, the producers already decided who they want through so they weren't shifting their pre-selects out of the pimp slot just for the golden buzzers.

I suppose the problem that the producers have is that the golden buzzer acts are all chosen before they've been able to gauge the public reaction to the acts. So if the public show indifference to a golden buzzer act then they probably have to write that act off.

I think it would work better on the X Factor as they seem to actually get a fast pass becuase lets face it bar Christian they would have all got to the Semi's

The problem with the golden buzzer is that the judges will either;

1) Put through contestants who will make the semi finals anyway (3 of the 5 would've definitely been there anyway)
2) Put through contestants who may split the panel and might not make the semi final and definitely won't get the public support to make the final (see Alesha's choice)
3) Put through novelty contestants who won't go any further (see David's choice)

Its a good idea in principle but in practice its terrible.
