Was Carol just being a "b*tch"??
Why tell someone who's just had a heart attack that they did it deliberately??
David's response was kinda low but she started it! FGS what kind of response is that to finding your partner has had a heart attack?? |

She was a bitch, it was alright for her to accuse him of that but not alright for him to react the way he did. She annoyed me soo much tonight, David is better off without her.

It felt like a scene Berkwood would have demanded!

I thought David's response was restrained, if that was me I wouldn't have been able to stop myself making a comment about the cancer being too slow.

Carol feels she has a right to be the most poorly person in the room.
David with his heart attack was taking away some of the attention she craves. |

It was a bizarre scene.
I think Carol was annoyed and upset because she thought David had jilted her but was worried when she found out about his heart attack but she walked in on him laughing and joking and got angry because she probably felt he was taking the piss but she still had no right to say she wished he'd died! If he does die she will regret it for sure! |

I am going to catch up with the omnibus to watch it but this scene sounds like total bollocks.

I just can't understand how any of us were supposed to feel like David was some awful person for saying he wished he died. It's painfully obvious that David just said that because Carol told him, after him just having a heart attack that she'd had a lucky escape. David had done nothing wrong but been dreadfully ill and at risk of death yet she came in there and accused him of deliberately doing it, it made no sense and I found myself angry and annoyed at Carol, a character who I normally love. This was an only ever so slightly better option than David dying, marred what I felt was a good episode slightly.

Carol's behaviour was just bizarre.
Your fiance has just had a heart-attack. So what do you do? You accuse his illness of providing a significant excuse for him to avoid marrying you. You expect a man who has just had a heart attack and thus in a position where he'd be immobile to have with him the present he claims he was intending to give to you as 'evidence.' You then proceed to claim you'd made an 'early escape' and you don't expect your fiance to hit back. And when he does, in response to your outrageously insensitive and entitled behaviour, you get all offended and walk out. Sometimes I think Carol got upset because her narrative to Ian regarding David was proven rather wrong. Carol and David aren't some love story. They are though, people who in many ways haven't really achieved in life what they wanted to; if they had any idea what they wanted in life at all. And their union could probably be described as 'settling.' But David is still probably Carol's best chance at any kind of happiness. It's almost as if Carol doesn't want to be happy; but be perennially miserable forever. It's clear, like everyone else in Walford she has trust issues - and her are with men - but Carol's issues go so far that she seems to desire this 'perfect man.' She'll never attain. It's ridiculous. Masood was too 'safe', David is too 'untrustworthy.' I find her character fascinating to watch, but my god she isn't half annoying sometimes. |

Carol is just a moody old cow, who just loves to be felt sorry for. It made sense, to me, for her to say what she did as she's always secretly loved being in the worst situation out of everybody in the room (and thus purposely puts herself in the worst possible situations)

I've always found Carol to be one to hit below the belt. Yeah, David is an idiot but only she could spin a heart attack back around on someone and use it against them. The whole plot is just contrived nonsense to keep this car-crash couple apart for even longer.

It wasn't really bad to be honest!
I can see why people would find it bizarre but it made perfect sense in terms of their characterisations and where the story had gone. |

That scene just showed what a irrational gobshite and self-absorbed woman Carol really is. It's all about her wounded pride, it's all about her needs. The man's just had a heart attack for christ's sake, if there's any time to cut him some slack - it's now!
I'm not even David's biggest fan, but did she really try and accuse him of deliberately having a heart attack? How exactly does one go about doing that? I know the next time I wanna get out of doing any chores at home, I'll just have a heart attack and hope I don't die . There's any number of stunts/excuses David could've pulled to get out of marrying Carol without risking his life. Why would he choose to self-induce a heart attack?

She thinks it's okay to constantly go on at David, say she had a lucky escape etc but when he bites back she's the victim
![]() The poor guy had a heart attack! I did love when he said snap. |

Asking to see the present, ffs he has just had a heart attack, do you really think his first thought would be to make sure he keeps hold of the present. I hope she feels bad, but I doubt it like her banshee daughter they both are never at fault.

David could have just walked away one day; but he didn't. You'd think that would tell Carol something?
Her and Bianca have a lot more in common than even I thought. . Sorry, it's plain terrible writing. Carol's always been self-absorbed, but that just bordered lunacy . I can't imagine anybody accusing their partner of that in real life.

Carol has always been a selfish self absorbed bitch who revels in misery. It didn't suprise me how she reacted to David. In fact I was expecting it. I think she gets off on being miserable.

Funny enough, for some reason, I just knew she would kick off at him
