Not really soap related but I thought I would share with anyone still up. I went to Sandown Park races tonight and noticed that there was a horse called Dellbuoy in the 6.10 race. The trainer was called Pat Phelan ! An omen, I thought. Had a couple of quid on but it didn't win. That's all folks. Good night.

This thread is probably as good a sign as any that with a seven o'clock start to work looming tomorrow I really should go off the soap forums and go to sleep

Interesting story though Mo Mouse, mildly amusing sums it up because I would have done the exact same thing. Pat Phelan's horse losing is a sign though, the big man is often imitated but never duplicated haha, goodnight

Phew! I came into this thread full of outrage, thinking for one 'eek' moment you were going to say that all our many Phelan-related witticisms were only 'mildly amusing'.

As you were.

This thread made me laugh out loud. Poor pat, maybe he lost because the horse wasn't called Valerie

At least you didn't go to Wimbledon, that would have meant Phelan was hung like a greyhound

"You've got nothing to worry about Owen, Phelan's hung like a womble."

If that doesn't bring them back together nothing will.

No Brookside, just messing. I don't think being 'hung like' anything would be considered suitable Corrie dialogue really. It's probably in the guidelines

If I was just joining DS I would have Pat Phelan as my user name just imagine the instant respect from everyone on the soap forums

But you'd spend the whole time fending off admiration/queries about your manhood Lucy Lou - DS is obsessed

However, 12 months down the line and everyone will be going 'Who??' and heading for Google.

I think topical usernames are always a mistake, hence the timelessness of mine and yours. (Although in hindsight, I sometimes wish I'd joined DS on a day when I was in a more optimistic frame of mind).

Usernames are sometimes intriguing aren't they.
I was gonna call myself 'Frank Frank' originally, but had a change of heart as I was filling the thingymajig in.

I'm glad you did. The real Uncle Quentin was lovely, even if he was overly fond of getting young Anne to sit on his lap whenever Aunt Fanny was out of the room.

Would like to have done, Wav, but you have to pretend to be sporting about these things. There were 8 of us there and I was the only one who didn't have a winner.
