I hate it when soaps copy each other? why do they do this? From the episode last night i gathered that Honey was maybe terminally ill or something, and is planning on telling Billy etc; and no doubt he will have the children forever if she dies. This sounds too much like the Donna storyline in Emmerdale.

I think she is emigrating from reading the spoilers. If she was dying they don't tally with Billy's 'extreme actions' next week. It sounds like he kidnaps the kids to keep her from going. imho

it's hardly a new idea. Phil got custody of Ben when Kathy died and Darren got custody of George when heather was killed.

EastEnders gas not copied Emmerdale, this storyline has been planned since DTC took over as in a interview he said they had mapped out storylines till Feb next year, if the storyline is similar, it's just one of those things that can't be helped.

Firstly, we don't know that this is the case; Honey may just have met a new man and be planning to move away, with the kids.

Secondly, soaps sometimes have similar storylines, that may even air at around the same time, but it can't actually be called "copying" unless there is clear evidence that ED writers said "let's do this storyline" and EE writers learnt of it and said "yes, let's do that as well."

I doubt very much that that is the case; I shouldn't think a scriptwriter would resort to stealing ideas from a rival soap, even if they were low on inspiration, and I shouldn't think people on a rival soap leak their ideas for scripts.. IF that turns out to be the storyline, I think it can only be coincidence.

I think you might be jumping to conclusions. She certainly didn't look terminally ill.

My guess would be that she is planning on moving a long way away (Australia, NZ, USA, Canada ??) and taking the children with her.

Way more likely that she is leaving the country with the kids or moving much further away at least so Billy wont be able to see them as often. I highly doubt she is terminally ill.

Eastenders did it before Emmerdale did when Sonia and Martin regained custody of Rebecca when her grandmother died of an illness.

So Billy might steal his kids to prevent Honey from going??

What about when Phil, Ian & Grant went to Italy to kidnap Steven & Peter from Cindy?

Its a shame if she is emigrating. EE totally bottled it with the down syndrome storyline. All the talk of her growing up in the show was just hot air in hindsight .

I don't think Honey is dying, but if she were I don't think it's 'copying' There are only so many things that can happen to an individual and therefore all stories are derivative..

Yep, EastEnders saw the Donna storyline start a few weeks ago and they have changed scripts, inserted new scenes and copied it straight from Emmerdale.

Obviously that's not the case. There is no way for them to copy Emmerdale in such a short period of time and do you even think they would want to copy a story straight out of another soap? I doubt DTC would be happy to do that.

Anyway, she's probably not even dying.

You "gathered" wrong..maybe you should wait in the future before going off on one??

I don't think Honey is ill, it would just be one too many illnesses in the show for that, I do think she has met a new partner and could be emigrating though, if she was just moving to another town it wouldn't be such a big deal, there isn't anywhere in the UK that you cant get to by train or car we are just on a little island! so it has to be something that will prevent Billy from easily seeing his children
