EE schedule changes
Should the BBC permanently change EE showing days? Fridays are really bad for EE the ratings are lower, should they change the Friday night episode to Wednesday or maybe an hour on Tue or Thur? And when EE was on couple weeks back for an hour on the Tue the episode started at 8 half an hour later and it got 8million viewers should they keep it that way? I seriously think all soaps need schedule changes and I also think ITV need to stop the two episode soaps in one night

I think that would be a good idea. Friday night is traditionally 'going out' night so viewing figures are bound to drop, plus for continuity I think Mon-Thurs episodes would flow much better.
This is my first ever post- long term lurker!

I agree with you over the ITV soaps. They should stop doing the two episodes in one night.
Emmerdale could do with dropping an episode and Coronation Street could be better of going daily. For example: Mon - Thurs 7pm Emmerdale 7:30 Coronation Street 8:00 Eastenders Friday: 7pm Emmerdale 7:30 Coronation Street 8:00 Holby City. For when ITV show football (like tonight, they will only need to cancel 1 one Coronation Street episode. That could be shown on at 8:30 on Thursday night. And soaps, (especially after 8pm), seem to be down in ratings on Friday night; so moving Coronation Street and Eastenders may benefit both the programme and the channel |

All of the soaps are on too often. It's hard to keep up, especially if you watch more than one soap.
Ideally I'd have (for the soaps I watch) EastEnders: Mon 8pm, Tues 7.30, Thurs 7.30. Scrap the fourth episode. Corrie: Sunday, Monday, Weds and Friday at 7.30. |

Shows like Watchdog prop up Wednesday so well but that's not really a Friday evening show. EastEnders should stay where it is Mon,Tues,Thurs and Fri. |

Holby doesn't hold up against strong competition. |

Have you people not heard of Orange Wednesdays? It's two for one on movies so therefore on wednesday nights rather than watch telly go and watch a movie. Friday easties you can catch up on a Saturday morning while eating your cornflakes if you are out on a friday night.

To be honest, the ratings aren't that bad to what bad actually is. The ratings for soaps never justify the amount of viewers because many viewers tend to record a soap nowadays due to work or other reasons. Changing the schedule damages, in some sense a soap's ratings because viewers may not know when an episode is on and EastEnders only got 8 million viewers on the hour long episode a few weeks ago on Tuesday because it was regarded as a special episode. Putting it as an hour on Tuesday or to Wednesday won't work. Friday night ratings will always be lower than any other day as people do go out. If the ratings were 2-3 million then it's worrying.
