I have been tempted to get the BT you view plus extra channels package. I was just wondering how everyone finds youview is it worth getting?

Can I record the online extra channels?
Does it have a series link feature?

I have heard some reviews that it's slow unresponsive etc.

Yes you can record the online extra channels and yes it has series link and yes it is not the most usable of boxes although the UI on the face of it looks slick.

If you sign up with bt you will get the new G4 box which is much better and makes the menus pretty responsive so there are no problems there. Check the online reviews of the new DTR-T2100 box and see for yourself

I'm 99% happy with the Youview service from BT.
Even the HD extra blot on pack at £3 a month is very good value.
I never take the Sky Movies bolt on as although I do like watching films I would not watch enough of them for the £16 a month. The BT film and box set bolt on at £5 a months is fine as I also have that bolt on.
Come the end of the year when my TV contract is about up I gong to see if BT will hive me the new G4 box.

Have just signed up for BT, had BT sport for a while was going to cancel it for the summer but they said If I kept it they would give me half price for three months as long as I kept it for six in total. The lady then said we do a few TV extras now so I had a look and for £50.99 rising to £56.99 after three months I'm getting Unlimited Infinity 2 plus calls, anytime unlimited calls to landlines, a You Box, a bolt on of 20 channels all upgraded to HD, free BT Sport, cheap calls to mobiles, etc, etc. on a 18 month contract and they discounted the installation costs and brand new equipment to replace my Sky stuff which is 5 or 6 years old.

A base TV HD package from Sky with unlimited Broadband of 12meg and anytime calls was going to cost about £64 - and the anytime calls did not cover as much as BT no free 0345 numbers for instance, they offered a deal of £40 something when I cancelled but that was only for a limited period and had no sport.
