Hey all, anyone using these?

Thinking of buying one for my Nexus 5 but not sure how easy they are to apply?

£10 is a lot to waste if they are anything like the cheap screen protectors!

Thanks

most of the suppliers seem to have videos of them being applied. it looks easier than the plastic ones.

Thing is, won't it raise the screen up higher causing problems with cases?

There fiddly to get on mines is good except from the top 2 coners wont stick right not sure why.. on my s5 it rased it just a bit over the home button but as you have a nexus with no physical home button should be ok, As for the case issue none I have a spigen slim armour case on mine and fits ok

http://postimg.org/image/r3qbyviyh/ my phone with the glass screen protector needs a clean lol

You could try a cheaper one like this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100-Genuin...item258b380801

There's some even cheaper at £2.99... not sure I'd want a really cheap one though.

Cheap one gives you a good idea if you will like it or not only a few quid lost if you don't want it

That's like saying I'm not getting car insurance because I've not crashed before, personal choice though I would rather be safe than sorry

Do you get many fingerprints? My Nexus 5 is a fingerprint magnet!

Which one did you get?

Ive had spigen glass screen protectors on my last two handsets and they are great. They are as smooth, if not smoother than the original screen and feel great to touch.

To apply (like any screen protector), what many people recommend;once fully cleaning the screen, leaving the protective film applied, position the SP on the phone exactly where it should go, and use masking tape down one edge, securing it to the side of the phone, so its like a hinge. test 'opening' it a few times to make sure it then sits as it should.

Give the screen a final screen and then take off the film on the screen side. Flip the cover onto the screen and smooth out any bubbles. Take off the tape and last protective film.

Ive read that some people will only apply them in the bathroom, after they have had a shower. This is because the dampness in the air helps stops as much dust in the air.

I had a glass cover on the Z2 and it was awesome, but it had been fitted with some dust under it. It started to bug me so I removed it and installed a regular one.

Boy what a difference! The plastic one 'clouds' up and needs cleaning all the time, and it shows fingerprints like you wouldn't believe.

Now I want to know if I can clean and re-apply the glass one. It has now got greasy on the back where I handled it, but it needs cleaning with something that won't leave water marks and still be adhesive.

Otherwise I may well buy a new one. The glass one is like not having a cover at all. Responsive, totally clear and maintains a sharp level of contrast. From now on I don't think I will ever buy ordinary ones, except when I first get a phone and need something temporarily.

I don't think there's any difference really between £4 ones and the Spigen ones. Don't see how there can be.

I think I'll buy a £3.50 job and go from there. Graeme has a cheap one and says it's all good.

it arrived this morning.

haven't decided if i will apply it yet.

it says it's 9H. ironically the only think i own which is hard enough to damage the screen of the Nexus 5. and i am going to put it right next to it.

I don't know. I got it from someone who works for Vodafone, who applied it before I got it.

I'm going to try and clean it and see if it can be re-applied (effectively answering my own question) as the pack of 3 that I bought from Amazon are nowhere near as good.
