Humax HB 1000S regularly freezing
NewWorldMan
31-05-2014
This is starting to happen to me quite regularly now, i.e, virtually every day. The green light stays on but the TV reports no signal and the controls don't respond. Switching the unit off and on at the mains fixes it.

I can usually tell when it's gotten into this state because the green light remains on long past the time when it should have gone into standby.

Fortunately, this is only a bedroom set!

Could be an issue with a usb recording drive. Try disconnecting the drive to see if the freezes stop.

I don't have a recording drive.

Have you tried a reset to factory defaults ?

For me it was simply dry batteries in the remote!

I've not tried that yet. I'd like to discover what the cause is first. The only thing I've done to it since buying it is set the timer for waking from standby. I suppose I could try disabling that and seeing whether it still happens.

It's not the remote because the front power switch also fails to respond when it gets into this state.

If it's corrupted Nvram only way to find out is reset the box.

If you contact Humax, the first thing they'll tell you to do is a factory reset, so you might as well try it and go from there.

Are you getting good or better signal quality readings?
