I honestly don't think so she peaked with her career 1999 - 2004 and had a little bit of a return to glory with Womaniser but other than that no those who loved her then have moved on.

She could of course keep releasing to mediocre success of course.

She needs her spark back before she will regain major success again, her performances are lackluster most of the time now and that is her biggest problem.

Partnering with Will i am sure isn't going to achieve that.

I think she needs her life back first.

No. It's a shame because for performance she was pretty much untouchable. It's so shame watching her now. She should release a stripped back album of more melancholy music like everytime, baby boy etc and she could be huge again like Madonna with something to remember but not with the dancing she's done for over 5yrs I blame Kevin Federline....and I don't think she ever really got over Justin

I think she needs to fix her personal life before she attempts her professional life, I think she could do it, big name female stars are always making big comebacks, Madonna, Mariah, Beyonce etc have all made huge comebacks in the past and once Britney is happy with life again I believe she will return to pop glory.

I think Britney's management is partially to blame along with Britney herself for her decline. Her management seem terrified to let her have control and be herself, giving an uncomfortable feeling of puppetry lately. Britney looks so uncomfortable because she is being told what to do.

I think Britney needs to pull the finger out so to speak. Seriously, she's a grown woman and shouldn't need this amount of control. Considering her life so far she should also be able to sustain an interesting interview or appearance on a show without repeating "cool", giving one word answers or simply deviating with "it was really cool, I loved it *blank expression*". Her For the Record documentary really showed a great sense of personality and did wonders for her because it addressed the breakdown era with grace and dignity, but since then I think the management team are going overboard with their control.

The key to her musical success lies with her gaining creative control again. I think her management team organised the will.i.am collaborations and producing and it doesn't feel connected to Britney. It was a career step that they thought would pay off but it didn't.
Britney needs to work with producers like Danja, Bloodshy and Avant, Billboard, Ammo and occasionally Max Martin to hit a commercial stride. She needs to take mainstream music and take it a step or two further. Britney is pop, but Britney suits a bit of edge and grit in her music.

Wishful thinking, though...

I don't think she wants a "comeback". Technically speaking she hasn't gone anywhere so there's no comeback to make...

She seems happy in Vegas and when she's into it, she has some really good moves going again (see this video) and the whole residency thing is proving to be a huge success (every show is selling out). There are some shows where it's obvious she is half-arsing it but off days happen to everyone.

Musically, Femme Fatale was a pretty solid album and spawned the biggest radio hits of her career and a successful tour on the back of 2 mediocre promotional performances.

Scream and Shout was huge. Sure it wasn't a great track but I don't think it would have been anywhere near as successful as it was were it not for her being on it - will.i.am's other collaborations - with bigger current stars - have failed to reach the same levels of success.

Britney Jean on the other hand is just... not great. There are some gems but overall it's a lacklustre album (personally I put it down to the involvement of will.i.am - I think they saw how big Scream and Shout was and thought they could replicate it. They failed). They hyped it as a Blackout 2 and the direction was changed.

It's clear Britney has very little say in what happens for her career: she wanted Alien to be a single, that has yet to happen and it's looking unlikely that there will be any further singles from Britney Jean. The Perfume video was destroyed (when controversy would have been a good thing). All the people she said she was working with bar will.i.am didn't make the album... etc

I think we'll see her take a long break after her Vegas contract is up. Her musical contract was over with the release of her last album so we'll see if she signs another or not. A lot of people just want her to be happy so even if that's not making music that's what matters.

I agree why come back when she hasn't been anywhere. Yes she has passed her prime commercially but I genuinely think she has no desire to have a return to form. It's clear in interviews her heart is no longer in it and I too feel after Vegas she will semi-retire. I think a lot still don't understand the severity or depth of her Mental health illnesses.

Also as you said lacklustre promo hasn't helped. she hasn't done proper promo post-breakdown and it's doubtful she will or if she can. Plus though her albums have done little in the way of sales they have gone on to influence others. As rolling stone said she is the stealth avant garde artist.

As for Britney Jean just a pitiful album what more can be said .

She hasn't really made a comeback as she hasn't really been off the radar, even when she hasn't been releasing any new music. She was just overshadowed by other major popstars like the Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Rihanna. However I think she needs to get her personal life sorted out first and focus on being a mother. I think after Vegas she needs to take a couple of years out and focus on family and then maybe come back with a killer album (more Urbaney would be good) that would make everyone sit up and take notice. Ideally she needs to be out of the conservatorship but I can't see that happening in the next couple of years.

Blackout is still her best album and Circus and Femme Fatale were good too, although it's a pity that the direction of Femme Fatale was changed. It was supposed to be an urban/R&B album. Just listen to her unreleased song Pleasure You, which was meant for the original FF. Britney Jean, however, is pants. It's got a couple of good songs but the rest os just meh. Will.i.am should never have been the producer of it. I hardly ever listen to the album. I tend to listen to every other Britney album. Even BOMT gets played sometimes. What happened to Blackout 2.0 and Feed The Wolves (rumoured title)? I would love to know what happened to the original Perfume video and Original Doll though. Were they really destroyed or is that just a cover up?

I think that is a genuine issue overall with Britney to many chefs in the kitchen saying what is what without listening to her. Femme Fatale is still a fantastic record and is the third in the trilogy (B,B and FF all compliment one another and share many similar qualities).

And people will hate me but Katy sort of filled Britney's gap and is more credible as she helms and writes her own music. Add in Gaga and the rest she was sidelined.

She Hasn't been away to comeback

Like Iconic, comeback is another word on here that is thrown around.

If you mean comeback in terms of can she come back fighting and resemble the formidable popstar that she once was, I think she can, but only if she really wants it. Right now she seems happy enough doing the bare minimum she can to stay relevant whilst spending as much time with her kids as possible, and I don't really blame her.

The thing is I don't think she really wants to be on top so to speak or have a major "comeback" with promo etc she I believe simply doesn't want to or feel the need to she has proven herself to be a pop phenomenon and is happy to do what she is doing now Vegas and just releasing music for her fans I really don't think she cares about being number one or shifting copies of her album.

She has been on top before and spiralled out of control and I think she is scared to be on top because of that.

I think she could if she wanted to a few appearances and performances over here and U.S along with advertisements and endorsments and she would be yet again a force to be reckoned with but like I said she doesn't want to and is happy that way and as a big fan of hers I am happy that she is happy.

Of course, but she seems to no longer have the drive or ambition. Its is depressing. I would rather her lead a happy life away from the industry, which she has always longed for instead pumping out subpar albums like Britney Jean.

I'm a longterm Britney fan but sadly I have to agree Her heart doesn't seem to be in it any more. Britney Jean is hands down her worst album bar a couple of songs. Even Baby One More Time is a better album! It's a shame really because she used to have a lot of energy and ambition. I was watching an old performance of I'm A Slave 4 U a couple of days ago and the difference between the Britney of 2001 and the Britney of now is noticeable. Back then she was a great dancer and had lots of energy and spark. I think what she needs to do is spend a few years away from the music industry and focus on family and stuff and then come back with a killer album. She could also move into other ventures like acting (either film or TV) or TV presenting. She has acted before as she did the Crossroads movie and didn't she have a cameo appeareance in How I Met Your Mother, or am I wrong that?

Do her label force her to record ever 3-odd years? It's seemed like her heart hasn't been in it since 2008 but since then she's had 3 lacklustre 'comebacks' and people are still wondering if a real comeback will happen. It's not going to happen as long as her hearts not in it.

I think she needs to be left alone to do as she pleases with her family for as many years as she likes at this stage. She's not a pop princess anymore, its almost like she's programmed into thinking she must be this perfect pop puppet in public at all times and it's sad to see, she's already earned her legacy. Let her do what she wants now, in 5/6 years she might actually have some desire to make a comeback and maybe then it will work.

I don't know, but personally I'm over her after being a fan since the beginning. That's how bad I thought Britney Jean was.

After watching the "Onyx Hotel Tour" and then clips from the Vegas tour, I'd say no! She almost like a completely different person. Oh and Britney Jean is dire! will.i.am has a lot to answer for.
