I might not be a fan of her as a solo star but I always loved GA and she usually releases good first singles. Her XF 'Promise This' performance was very memorable and the dance routine was good...
Tonight however was extremely flat and a bit rubbish... there wasn't really any noise from the audience during the song either, it seemed really quiet and lifeless.
I was expecting something similar to the Promise This routine during the sax parts but the whole thing looked very lazy especially since she followed Little Mix.
Had she been the lone star performer of the night it would have been fine but following the brilliant Little Mix / Diversity performance it all just fell a bit flat.
I am liking the song a bit more but the sax breakdown still sounds like a sound effect on a childs keyboard.
Not available to download until 20 July !!!!. Bonkers , what is her record co / management thinking ? . Every one will be tired of it before then . That really is crazy , stupid .
I like the video. Cheryl dances a lot more in the video and twerks a bit too. The video has a very similar vibe to Call My Name but with more people, a bit grungier/underground setting and being Beats Pill sponsored (). That being said though CMN is a better video overall with the outfits, atmosphere and the structure as a whole. Nonetheless, Crazy Stupid Love is a good video from her. The song is growing on me as well.
Not really a fan of the video. I don't feel like it suits the song, the song feels more colourful and summery and this looks like a video for an R&B/Dubstep track. Kinda like the setting for Kelly Rowlands Motivation video, but that suited the song.
It feels like the choreography doesn't match the music too. The FFTL & CMN choreography was on point but this feels a bit over the place and like it doesn't really work.
I am a fan of CC and love her 3 solo albums, CSL is different and catchy but I think it is her worse 1st single from a album to date. I don't think it will do that well. However I think she has to accept that she is no longer a huge star and should settle for a chart placement of between 12 and 24 I think. I will go with Number 12.
I think she and her record company thought the song would do much better on iTunes pre orders than it actually has done. Its now dropping quite fast and when the song is released at the end of July people will be so over it + she'll never get another show with as much exposure as BGT to promote on in mid July.

Radio support will have picked up by then and anyway she isn't dropping fast, she's stayed around top 60 since its premiere on radio last monday.

I totally agree. The 5 week gap between debut and release will not help its cause.

In the digital age WHY DO record co's continue to give singles a 5-6 week lead in??? i presume its so radio can catch up but that doesn't reflect reality. if you listen to a song online, you'll want to buy it immediately- not in 4-5 weeks! why don't music co's catch up with peoples spending habits??
With such a long gap btw first play & release people will either download illegally or move onto something else & not bother to purchase at all.

I think it's quite clever releasing that late tbh and starting the promo as early as she has done. The song isn't as instant as Call My Name. You can guarantee she will be everywhere in the lead up to it and it gives radio time to really start playing it a lot BEFORE it's released. Then before you know it its 20th July and the song has gone #1

Exactly, look at Work Bitch! It was quite the hype when first premiered in September, then again for the video premier in October, but we had to wait til November. Granted it did reach #7 however with a release in September or even early October it could have easily reached top 3!
She's so pretty but ugh I can't get into the song at all. It only grows more annoying with each listen. The video also just seems at odds with the song and quite dated.

The song sounds cheap to me”
5 weeks seems too long for me, particularly as the video is already out. It will also be four weeks or so between BGT performance and single release date. I thought they were going to do it all as a bit of a surprise attack. I do think the song just isn't that good and won't take off on radio or in clubs like Call My Name did.
I figure it might be to do with the album release schedule though. If this song is out mid July they could put a second single out in October with a performance on X Factor. There will surely be a lot of magazine interviews between now and then.

I doubt she'll struggle for radio play, she has never had issues with it before and Capital FM have already playlisted it, which is unusual considering how far away the release date still is. Plus she is playing their Summertime Ball, so they will definitely support.
I am unsure about Radio 1 though, I think they will playlist it, but not spin it as much as her other lead singles.
The song is awful imo. Her 'singing' is awful imo. She is a much better dancer than she is a singer. I would be very surprised if this song reached no.1 despite the massive promo. It just aint good enough!

Exactly what I said earlier . 20 July is a long long way from now . AirPlay will peak before then especially the video on tv , that will drop off before end of June . Crazy , stupid decisions these record co execs make .

Apparently the surname was only dropped because it wouldn't fit on her last album cover due to the styling/font. Not because she doesn't want to be known as Cheryl Cole. The cynic in me thinks that it's more to do with the fact that people will always call her Cheryl Cole regardless so dropping the name has no effect.
