Anyone on here had experience of owning or owns any Finlux TV's , I know they are Vestel which seems to be a dirty word on this frum but at present they have a 55" with all the bells and whistles on for £899 .I'd love to know if anyone has a Finlux and is pleased with their purchase.

It's just a cheap Vestel set, which is why it's cheap - if you want a cheap low quality TV, then it's as good as any other.

Seems a lot of money for that brand - what does it have that this doesn't?

This seems to be the model. In guess this cost is due to its smart functionality and LED screen.

If I were buying a Vestel-made smart TV I would wait until Vestel launches Freetime as that provides catch-up from all four PSBs whereas the above only has catch-up from the BBC.

I bought a Hitachi TV made by Vestel (32") for the spare room and have been happy with it.

An extra 5" of screen size.

I bought a Panasonic 50" set last year (LCD 1080p) for under £400 after various compounded vouchers and cashback were applied.

Not the best set in the world, but I'm generally happy with it for the price.

The bigger the screen, the bigger the challenge for the technology running behind it, and as a general rule, the amount you pay indicates the level of technology you get.

1080p ... 1 0 8 0 p

If I only had 400 quid to spend on a TV, I wouldn't go above 40"
