Getting work experience with a UK record label - anybody done it?

Just wondering if anybody who might have had some work experience or an internship, or even a career, with a UK label could shed some light on how to get a foot in the door?

I'm a media studies graduate and I've spent a year abroad. Now I'm applying for jobs in a few different industries. I'd love to work in the music industry but I have no experience of it. Something like an internship would be ideal, but it seems almost impossible to find contact details for a lot of the labels. Neither Sony UK nor any of its subsidiaries has an email address on their website for instance. Are positions generally not advertised?

I suppose I just want some advice really...

Probably not suitable for you but from Domino records web site:

To be eligible, you must be doing your first degree and required to complete a work placement (that's no longer than 12 months) as part of your course.

Ideal candidates will have a confident phone manner, good task-management skills, a huge passion for music and a genuine interest in working at an independent record label.

Please submit your CV and covering letter explaining why you'd like to work at Domino to: workexperience@dominorecordco.com

Please be aware that we receive many enquiries and cannot respond to every single request we receive, but we will do our best to get back to you.
