If we get evidence of X Factor's Sunday-afternoon ITV share being much higher in the officials than in the overnights (like the omnibus going from 5.9% to 9.8%, and the Friday portion of the omnibus doubling or tripling to 21.0%) then we can award The X Factor a few more viewers too.

USA v Portugal was a big rater in the US with an average of 18.2m viewers and a peak of 22.9m. This was the most viewed football match ever in the US and ESPN's most watched programming excluding the NFL and college Football.

Univision also showed the match and it was viewed by 6.5m viewers, again a network record and making a combined total of 24.7m across the networks.

Midsomer Murders really does the business for ITV3. Over two nights it has delivered over 1million. Also looking at the multichannels its looks to me like ITV3 has overtaken ITV2 as highest rating channel.

It's nice that "soccer" is becoming more popular over there slowly but surely. I'd love to see the ratings if the USA get to a World Cup semi-final or a final. The media would start paying more attention to the sport then and I'm sure ratings would soar.

I think it must be a combination of it being early in the morning and my first coffee not quite hitting the spot, but I read the bit in bold as Juicy Women. Confusion in my brain thought that ITV were launching a late night chat show in a similar vain to Loose Women.

The last Autumn series (in 2010) aired 6 October - 19th December.

Fantastic to see EE holding nicely above 5m! I genuinely expected it be around 4m given how the low it fell against the recent Emmerdale clashes. The second half must've been a lot higher than the first half to pull up the average then.

Eastenders did extremely well to be over five million.
Corrie dented by the clash as well as feeling like a remake of all previous soaps funerals combined.

So Eastenders getting 2 million viewers less than Coronation Street is seen as a fantastic rating, only in this thread.

hmm we will never see the end of these types of documentary then.

Corrie is a stronger soap and had a 30 minute head-start. If this was a normal Monday, then that would've been a terrible rating. In the circumstances it held up well.

Considering they are the two biggest soaps up against each other, the ratings for both are respectable following another hot and sunny day. Unfortunately EE has a tough time this week with the various clashes.

Great to see EE didn't hit the all time low some people wanted!

It held up way better than I also actually expected. The Corrie clash barely dented it off recent overnights although its share is way lower than usual.

Corrie was poor last night full of soap cliches and badly written. I imagine some left Corrie after 30minutes to watch EE.

All of the EE haters who've 'disappeared' since THAT Friday rating. I'm fairly sure if EE had dropped below 4 million yesterday, they'd be back here gloating.

You are correct and if you take a look you will see at least one of them has turned up this morning.

Good result for EE held up much better then I thought. As some have said, am guessing the second half was a lot higher to pull up the slot average. Many have said that Corri was pretty bad last night so am guessing a lot may have switched over.

I haven't seen anyone say 'I want EE to fall to its lowest ever rating', all I've seen is some saying it might fall to its lowest ever rating.

True some would have commented how poor it would have been if it dropped below 4million, but it didn't, it held up well. If Corrie was stronger it might have done, luckily for EE Stuart Blackburn is determined to kill Corrie off.

Eastenders has had a battering from all angles for several years. From Emmerdale clashes, BGT clashes, its own bosses at times, BBC bosses messing around with its repeat, its omnibus, its scheduling and generally taking it for granted. The result is not that its not capable of getting big figures on occasion, but that its lost many remnants of being regular must see tv and that its loyal core audience has been shaken down to Emmerdale levels.
ITV on the other hand-apart from odd blips- have treated Coronation Street with the respect it deserves. It goes largely unchallenged in its slots and therefore less of its audience have reason to lose touch with it-even if quality rises and falls like other soaps.

Good to see EastEnders didn't collapse. I'd call 5m an okay figure, not great or impressive, just okay.

It got over 500k on BBC3.
