Plus the clash really kills momentum for both soaps.

Seriously? Corrie emerges from that with a decent figure. The EastEnders raring is poor due to the weather and lost momentum. Scheduling is going to undo a lot of good work EastEnders has done recently to establish itself again.

Bit on the Side- 707K (5.7%)

Not a good sign for tonight, that looks low for a post-launch BOTS. Especially considering they had quite a strong panel for BOTS standards.

BB is up from last year and the ratings are fine.

Nothing really stands out as being great or awful last night, its all a bit meh.

Also, I think depending when this is ready it could be very high rating with JK's name and the cast they've assembled. Could it be ready for Christmas?

All the soaps not great IMO. EE share is down from the last normal Thursday but CS despite still being on top giving away some of last weeks gains with daft scheduling. Todays weather is not going to help any of them either.

Yes not impressive and we could be in for several months of this with weather and schedule changes.
It should be remembered that Eastenders has just come off a bruising week(and a further Emmerdale clash) and Coronation Street a buoyant one so maybe its not surprising that the latter is a bit ahead even if its out of place.

The BGT final is looking very strong despite the weaker semi-finals. Should be a good final which I think is always the best part of BGT.

Yes and they have at last had a bit of luck with Andy Murray even if it is his least favoured surface.
They will hope it isn't just a quick three setter even if it flings their schedule about.

I tended to get the impression the BBC were never that keen on the French Open.

Nadal vs Murray started at 3.13pm.
Thought ITV4 would go to a doubles match, but no, the same game's on ITV and ITV4.

Murray well and truly overshadowed by the breathtaking brilliance of Taghrooda powering clear in the Epsom Oaks on C4 in the dazzling sunshine.

From There To Here has been a good drama and would have achieved 5 million any other time of the year. Life of Ryan was a deserved flop, football documentaries are more the preserve of BBC One on a Saturday lunchtime or ITV 4.

The Casual Vacancy is for 2015. Looks like it could be a good one.

ITV have been smarter with scheduling their dramas. Monday at 9pm would have been much better for it. But From There To Here didn't really hook people from episode 1 the way some other dramas have recently.

One way traffic. Much like the Oaks.

Frustration for ITV who were seemingly hoping Murray would work his magic on their ratings much like he does each and every year for the BBC during Wimbledon fortnight. But once again not to be.

Should ITV put The Chase on? It is billed in the listings after all.

I take it you are referring to the fact that the BBC have two mainstream public-service channels which they can switch between. It could have been different: there might have been an ITV2 back in the 60s:

Quote:
“British television at the time of BBC2's launch consisted of two channels: the BBC Television Service and the ITV network made up of smaller regional companies. Both channels had existed in a state of competition since ITV's launch in 1955, and both had aimed for a populist approach in response. The 1962 Pilkington Report on the future of broadcasting noticed this, and that ITV lacked any serious programming. It therefore decided that Britain's third television station should be awarded to the BBC.”
