Argentina v Switzerland is going to extra time. Fantastic news for the Beeb! Should be looking at a 10m+ peak and a very strong share. BBC One's All day share is going to be massive. EmDale is going to post a low figure tonight.]

But you know hand on heart Andy23 that I'll be right about Rising Star.

Here here. Why not BBC4HD on Freeview?

Or even E4 or More4?

Barmy!

Totally agree with that - 4seven is waste of space on its own never mind an HD version.

I don't even know anything about it, what the format is or anything, as its not airing until next year. Let me know in December, when I'll start taking an interest

Looks like EastEnders will be dropped tonight now. The soaps forum will go mad!

I can't find the thing where Fincham says he has made a mistake with Rising Star. Looks like a manipulation of what Fincham actually said to me.

To quote those twitter sites: "ITV's Peter Fincham says we get pitched lots of shows with interactivity but is it a barrier or does it enhance. Essential it enhances"

Peter Fincham @ITV "we are up for taking a risk on new entertainment shows that will challenge the big shows currently running"

TV fashions are throughly cyclical so if any genre or sub genre is out fashion that's the time to be working on it says Peter Fincham.

Nothing about a mistake. More spin than a washing machine.”

If the quote doesn't suit your agenda, just twist it to make it fit no-matter how far from the truth it is. I certain trademark of the press, cheap tacky newspapers, The Sun, Mirror, Mail.

It is unless you are in a Freeview Lite (relay) area.

Cracking tennis on beeb2 at the moment.

Ive written many essays in the past to lots of success.”

Then you will know, when stating information that is not from your own self, it needs to be sourced and referenced not just copy and pasted with nothing to back it up.

Not so sure about that - it's been a very dull match and there is looking like an almighty big shock is about to happen at Wimbledon. I've turned over from BBC1 to BBC2 now, though flicking between the two.

EPG currently showing this:
4.30 World Cup Match of the Day Live
7.45 BBC News
8.10 Regional News
8.35 World Cup Match of the Day Live
11.10 BBC News

Yes, Chiles first became prominent through the radio and he is clearly very adept at it, as he clearly is presenting on the telly. The idea that the general public despise Chiles and can't bear to watch him is ludicrous, it's a handful of loudmouths on Twitter and forums. I don't think he's as good as on ITV as he was on the Beeb but in about 2006 I would have happily said he was my favourite presenter, I watched all the BBC highlights shows in the 2006 World Cup just for him because I liked him so much.

Yes, Daybreak didn't work out but all presenters are allowed one misstep. I would suggest Des Lynam did far more damage to his reputation on ITV, he was dreadful on it, absolutely phoning it in and being totally indulged. Some of the ITV punditry at this World Cup has been the best they've done for years and Chiles is responsible for that. I think he'll do an excellent job on Five Live.

I dunno, though, in previous tournaments we've often had truncated regional news bulletins so it could well be the case that we get the news and regional news at 7.40 and then 'stEnders just after eight. It's not like it happens every week, the problem is that with the late game as well they can't really give the regions an extended slot for the late bulletin to make up for it. Anyway, we'll wait and see.

The EPG has BBC News at 7:45 and Regional News at 8:10, with football back at 8:35

Look North are live on an OB so they'll be hoping they still get a full programme.

Only if the BBC do an ITV and drop the news (and ITV dropped a short bulletin; not a half hour programme).

Current schedule on the EPG as published before. EastEnders dropped.
