1.12m for Red on Film4 last night. A fantastic audience and the second highest multichannel of the day, just behind the 1.14m Lewis got on ITV3.

Film4 seriously get good value out of that film. It's strange that films that did decently but not brilliant in cinemas do better on television, Taken is the same.

The Friday omnibus is a waste of time. BBC2 show the a compilation of Saturday kitchen on a Sunday morning starting around 10am. Drop this repeat and have the EE omnibus there. For some it would become the Sunday hangover programme to watch, a little bit like HO is over on Ch4.
EE needs consistent and stable showings. It doesn't need to be flung around the schedules like it has been. They need to drop the BBC3 repeat, keep the omnibus at the same time every Sunday and allow the viewers to get into a routine.
One showing only during the week and the omnibus on a Sunday - its not rocket science only tv scheduling !
Big Brother was watched by 1.17m (7.1%) on Channel 5 from 10pm, with 503k (5.4%) sticking around for Bit on the Side
So that is excluding +1. With +1, I predict around 1.22m-1.26m.
I hear the +1 share was 7.5%. Rating may not look brilliant, but that is a big share boost.

The repetitive nature of your posts regarding Coronation Street and Stuart Blackburn is almost exactly the same as Samuel and his fixation with ITV's weekly reach 'crisis'. It's unnecessary.

I don't think the omnibus will return to a sensible hour, with the rapid rise in popularity for IPlayer I can see them gradually phasing the repeats out especially with the closure of BBC3.

What H of De Vil doesnt realise is that theres about 50 people who work behind the scenes to make Coro, if not more people. So even though Blackburn is in charge, it's not necessarily his fault that the script writers are providing substandard quality scripts, that the storyliners are creating poor repetitive unrealistic stories, that some of the actors cant act very well, that the camera crew are not as good as ones on other shows. Blackburn can only work with the tools he has. The whole Coro backroom team have to put their hands up and admit theyve all contributed to its ratings decline this year, not just Blackburn

7.5 / 7.1 x 1.17m = 1.24m approx inc +1.

The Saturday Kitchen compilations are good raters and things get dropped for sport at the weekend (including that) so it could never be a fixed slot.

The acting is absolutely fine. In the main it is the same cast from last year when the show was on such a role. The storylines are not good enough, I agree. The emphasis on infidelity is a particular cause for concern, it does not make for happy viewing when it is time after time. Unlike EastEnders, I don't see it being a long term decline. In fact I think it could be quite easily fixed if they do move away from that particular route. And the camera crew? Really? What an utterly bizarre reason for the demise of Coronation Street.
Bit better for BB, share looks okay. It was an improved episode and the lack of football helped, but still has more to find. As noted yesterday they will target the end of the World Cup with BB: Armageddon beginning the following night.

Apparently some of the camerawork the last few months on Coro has been bad since the move to the new set. They are trying to make the new set look as similar on screen as the previous set by not showing certain camera angles [even though there are big differences such as a wider road etc]. So they are compromising good quality direction in order to make the new set look as similar as possible as the last set in this transitional period.

I think the share looks healthy, especially considering it has been around 5-6% lately. Hoping for another rise tonight because it was a good episode. Intrigued to see what Armageddon is all about and whether the intrigue sees a boost on Monday 14th; by then, I am pretty sue Viacom have the show. Wonder what they have planned.

Absolute nonsense. The camera work in fine, it is not shoddy, or compomising good quality. You just make it up as you go along for the sake of bit more bashing. Its the storylines and writing that is letting it down, not the camerawork.

I do realise there are a lot of people contributing to Corrie being poor, however since Blackburn took over and writing as well as the storylines have both taken a dive so most things are contrived and tedious.
When Phil Collinson was in charge the storylines were undoubtedly better, the writing in some places was contrived, but much less so than Blackburn's era. Ultimiatly it is the producer who has the final say on storyines and Blackburn has so far ruined Emmerdale and Corrie, which is rather coincidental don't you think.
The fact is ITV need a good cear out of Corrie's cast, producer, and add in some fresh writers.

Maybe it is a bit repetitive but I'm just frustrated that ITV are not acting and removing him from his position when the storylines from him tenure have been poor. Ratings last year were up YOY and the best for many years. This year they're down over 900k (av.) and its worst yearly average.

Very good rating for Lewis. ITV3 is really delivering during the World Cup. Should get another 1m+ on Friday with MM at 8pm.

Which is fair enough. It is poor at the moment and I watch it a lot less than I used to do. However it does not need to mentioned every single time Coronation Street is brought up on the thread. It's quite clear that the storylines are not at the level they need to be.
And in terms of camera work Samuel, the transition as far as I'm aware has been seamless. The issues that you say must exist only in your head. It most certainly isn't a reason for people not tuning in.
