That's pretty much what I expected for the Opening Ceremony.

Broadcast have an article up about ITV announcing they're looking for male skewing content to replace the Champions League. They've outlined various things they're looking for, but in it there's the piece of info that outside of football ITV's most male skewing offering all year has been Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows! That says a lot about their own programmes and just shows that they've got a bit of an uphill climb ahead of them on this one.

ITV (+1 in brackets)

Emmerdale - 4.9m (5.2m)
Corrie - 5.8m (6.2m)
Mr & Mrs - 2.7m (2.8m)
Death Row - 1.6m (1.7m)
News - 2.1m (2.2m)

Awful for the News at Ten, considering there was no 'news' opposition.

How the hell was I 'picking on' it? All I said was ITV got low ratings that night and the reaction on this thread was amusing.
I wasn't implying that you were picking on it. I was referring to your post about the ITV programme that rated poorly against the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Olympic games and your post seems to imply that people were making fun of this or acting like it was a shocking rating? My opinion would be, what did they expect?

And the REALLY late news in BBC1 had 2.7m. ITV News just can't get the ratings. Anything crit BBC2 Bushmills?

Very acceptable rating for CG as far as BBC are concerned now lets see what happens today. Although I am a sports fan looking at the events tonight I am not really sure I am that interested.

And sheds. Men like their sheds. Power tools as well. How about a programme called "Celebrity Sheds" (working title), where celebrities show us their sheds and shed contents?

What male skewing programs are there now - I can only think of sport and maybe Top Gear?

Hardly any. The only example ITV gave were Top Gear and The Island with Bear Grylls. Then I guess you've got stuff like Doctor Who which has a pretty even 50:50 split (the average TV show is 62:38 I believe, so even 50:50 is a big win really if you're looking for male viewers).

Thanks for those, always interesting to see the daytime numbers.

Ouch, some of those are dreadful! Obviously the weather drags everything down but I think The Speakmans is utterly inexcusable. Absolutely dire. As is Gino & Mel which surprises me as I thought that normally did alright. Got to give credit to Kyle and the afternoon quizzes for holding up as well as they did. I'd say Dickinson did alright too considering the heatwave and the rancid lead in.

This Morning looks low although I wonder how much of that is weather related as recent figures I've seen have still had it at a solid 20% share. Do you know what the share was yesterday? Alternatively maybe yesterday was quite a weak day for it even compared to other recent numbers.

Yes I did that look at The Mimic. Was its +1 so miniscule it added nothing to its ratings? God that is poor!

I liked Operation Cloud Lab but it's a good job they only made two. It didn't catch on. Glad The £15 Billion Pound Railway held up. Hopefully it was The Opening Ceremony that caused the dip and not people deciding to ditch the programme. It is fascinating.

How does ITV daytime compare to its BBC1 competition? Were BBC1 much stronger or did the good weather affect both?

Have you got BBC1 line-up please? Then we might see how its looks in comparison to the ad free channel.

If ITV continue like this people are going to forget which number ITV is on they use it so infrequently.
