Seriously the only...the only reason you are saying this is simply because ITV have bought Rising Star. Had they not you would be slating this new Ch4 show, as you would be if it was on ITV.

UK TV Ratings ‏@TVRatingsUK
New Channel 4 show #TheSingerTakesItAll could only launch with 1.16m/5.7% last night, putting it fifth in the 9pm slot.
9:36 AM - 2 Aug 2014

Awful number! Channel 4 shouldn't be surprised, because that scheduling was absolutely terrible.

Maybe they should have got Peter Kay to present and called it Peter Kay's The Singer Takes It All. Would have instantly doubled the rating...

wonder if we will get a breakdown of it? main reason I watched 15 mins and to be honest it was so crap I gave up. I suspect others did the same this is by far the weakest show Carr has done

Why does Channel 4 rely on the same presenters all the time? Its always Alan Carr, Jimmy Carr ffs.

Ten/Twenty years ago this was a channel which produced comedy hits. Now its a tired old channel.

Not bad yesterday. 19:00 slot having the necessary effect from Athletics and Usain Bolt. Do you have a breakdown of the primetime slot please?

The Singer Takes it All flopped as predicted, no spoiler for Rising Star.

If anything Breakfast has increased share. The BBC has the perfect schedule for success. No day can give them low all day shares simply because the News acts as a magnet and holds up well, then programmes can just be slotted in between.

With ITV is a programme performs poorly, viewers avoid the news on ITV as well.

ITV2 has commissioned a new series of 'Freshers' to air later this year, consisting of 6/hour long episodes - Press Centre

I am afraid the BBC is equally guilty of trotting out the same presenters

Balding
Knowles
Irvine
Logan
Baker (TOS, Countryfile and now gymnastics)
Littlewood

They may all be safe hands but how about a few new faces - I thought the BBC had an executive in charge of finding new talent ?

Terrible for the Singer Takes It All. I now predict that Samuel will say that this is bad news for Rising Star since the copycat format has completely flopped. Viewers will subsequently turn away in their droves to Call The Midwife when Rising Star debuts next year

Ratings for the Commonwealths first hour after 1900 likely dragged down by them Showing Tom Daley rather than Athletics, Daley far more popular with TV executives than viewers, he's so over rated.

It's not a good sign for Rising Star that there was so little interest in the Singer Takes It All. Looks like new singing shows just wont capture the public's imagination because of how many existing ones there are right now. Given how badly RS has done in Brazil and the USA recently, launching poorly, I'd be worried if I was at Itv about its chances.

To be fair, the concept of Rising Star sounds doomed to failure in any country with multiple timezones. You can't be interactive when you're not watching live...

That's less of an issue in the UK so let's just wait and see. We can't predict these things.

Coronation Street was Friday evening's top-rated soap (August 1) as the Platt family's latest crisis began to unfold, overnight figures show.

6.1m (32.7%) watched at 7.30pm on ITV and 185k (0.9%) on +1 as David and Kylie came back from holiday with news of bad behaviour from Max, while 5.57m (26.8%) returned at 8.30pm and 298k (1.4%) on +1 as David struggled to convince Kylie that Max's antics were a concern.

Emmerdale continued with 5.02m (29.5%) at 7pm on ITV and 214k (1.1%) on +1 as Moira tried to make Adam see sense over his recent drug use.

Hollyoaks attracted 746k (4.6%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as Lindsey and Joe's secret scheme against Freddie was revealed, while E4's first look followed with 740k (4.3%) at 7pm and 200k (1.1%) on +1.

Over on Channel 5, Neighbours claimed 585k (7.8%) at 1.45pm and 617k (4.7%) at 5.30pm, while Home and Away managed 211k (2.8%) at 1.15pm, 468k (3.1%) at 6pm and 212k (1.3%) for 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

The Singer Takes it All was terrible because the app didn't work! If interactive shows are the way forward then this is always going to be a concern.

Atrocious ratings for The Singer Takes It All. Proving once again that trending on Twitter doesn't equal ratings.

Clearly you haven't been watching the coverage that closely I can think of at least two new young presenters.

If Citizen Khan doesn't grow its audience surely this will be the last we'll see of it.

That's a horrid rating and whats funny is I managed to catch the end of it, and Alan himself said they had over 2mil votes so they had more votes then the actual figure the show got lol

That could be explained by the difference between "reach" and "average" rating for the show?
