Isn't that the same as usual though - 3 weeks between preview show and main launch? (Assuming that the preview airs the Saturday after filming.)
Yes, I was just expecting the preview on the 13th for some reason, despite it being on the 7th last year.

A Bruce free Strictly, a revamped X Factor. Who will come out on top?
Atlantis.
And, again from the cinema screenings, it does not look as though the episode will be a full hour and a half. It seems to be between 75 and 80 minutes in length, not 90.
See this is what I'd read, but I refer you again to the link I posted earlier this morning - http://www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/docto...ep-breath-film. Very rare for the BBFC to be so out.

EDIT: Sorry, the seperate cinema classificaion page (rather than the DVD classification posted above) clarifies that that '98 minutes' includes an introduction and various other bits and bobs. Back to the 75-80 minutes we all believed before then.

I mean that they don't need to put as much effort in. When ITV is weak, viewers more often that not turn to BBC1.

Something like Fake Britain and The Sheriffs are Coming are rpt's this week but will rate well despite this.
If it's that easy for BBC1 to rate well with factual, why can't ITV do that? As we know, it's never because people actually like the BBC1 factual.

6 x 60 minute episodes apparently. My guess is that it'll be at 7pm leading into The X Factor. Could possibly dent the Strictly results if they overlap.
Other than it being at the Palladium, this would appear to be identical to For One Night Only which five years ago was shown, funnily enough, at 7pm on Sundays before The X Factor, where it got totally obliterated by the Strictly results. Of course there was a revival back in 2000, Brucie did a one-off in 1998 to celebrate his birthday and it seemed to work well enough to do a whole series in 2000. The series was on a Friday but didn't do that well and the highest rated episode was the final one which was moved to Sunday to make way for Euro 2000. Didn't help that for some reason every channel had decided to do variety shows so BBC1 had Jim Davidson Presents and C5 had The Big Stage at the exact same time.

And people are forgetting all the times BBC1 factual tanks. No audience is guaranteed these days. A programme needs something about it to attract viewers.

The name is the usp and will probably help attract a few more viewers than a variety show with another name.

Anyone else having problems reading the ratings on their new look website... there doesn't appear to be any numbers to the right, just blue bars?

EastEnders ratings for week ending July 27th.

Monday - BBC1: 6.69m
Tuesday - BBC1: 5.04m
Thursday- BBC2: 4.59m
Friday - BBC2: 4.58m

As I always say.

But that doesn't really help EastEnders. Lower overnights mean lower consolidated ratings. They might as well have not bothered with the Lucy Beale murder promotion if that was the case.
A programme with 6m overnight might go to 7m, it is very rare to see that same programme go from an overnight of 4m to 7m. It is starting further back so has more ground to make up.
