Are we sure that's not the repeat of last week's Countryfile which was on BBC1 at 1.15 pm, seems an extraordinarily low figure.
It was a compilation episode so I can understand people not flocking in from the sunshine (if they had any), but the share still looks low. |

Not sure if this has been posted already? Quote:
The BBC and Channel 4 have shed 12% of their viewers in the 25-34 age range over the three-year period from 2010-2013.

No it was the teatime one, as confirmed by ITV Media's top 10 posted by H. Share of 18% does seem very low.

Midsomer Murders weekend did very well. I think ITV3 will be the channel that benefits from the World Cup filled schedule over the next few weeks |

Fantastic number for the French Open on ITV, which no doubt peaked with near 3 million - proves what a stupid move it was to not remain on the tennis until the end of set four.
And I would suggest that the tennis figure only looks fantastic based on the 5% share collected by the broadcast involving mostly Murray crashing out (excluding ITV4 simulcast) and the 9% for the women's final (no ITV4 simulcast). In the grand scheme of things, 16% for the afternoon coverage of the men's final (no ITV4 simulcast) isn't all that brilliant IMO. |

BBC has confirmed a new eight-year deal with FIFA to cover the World Cup up to and including 2022, shared with ITV.
The World Cup will continue to be free-to-air on UK television for the next eight years, after the BBC and ITV signed a deal to broadcast the 2018 and 2022 tournaments. The agreement, which includes coverage for TV, radio and online, was announced ahead of the 2014 World Cup launch this Thursday. More than 75% of the UK population tuned in to the 2010 tournament in South Africa. Fifa TV director Niclas Ericson said: "Football fans in the UK can look forward to enjoying the very best coverage of the World Cup free-to-air for a long time to come." Barbara Slater, BBC Sport director, added: "It is fantastic news that the pinnacle event in world football will continue to be available free of charge for everyone in the UK." The BBC will provide 50% more coverage for this year's tournament compared to the 2010 World Cup. It will broadcast every moment on TV, radio and digital platforms, with all content to be made available on BBC iPlayer. BBC One will show England's first match against Italy on Saturday at 11 pm BBC House magazine Ariel on line |

D.M.N., how does that rating for the Canadian Grand Prix compare with previous years?

Try going on the BB boards, you have people discussing housemates 99.9 per cent of the population have forgotten about. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just it's a bit odd that a reality show has such a cultish fan base.

Also if England do well in the world cup, this will bolster Auntie's confidence with live football again as they have a four year deal to show the FA Cup. After years of wooden Adrian Chiles and Clive Tyldesley, fans will be pleased to have the likes of Gary Nice Guy Lineker and Alan Shearer back. Also Guy Mowbray seems to be settling into the shoes of John Motson quite nicely.

Predictable reply as usual from yourself Andy. I didn't say ITV should have covered it extensively, I said that they should have covered the afternoon event - it was done after an hour. If they had done that that would have been fine.

Itv Encore is being very heavily publicised. Its being promoted on non Itv channels. Will be interesting to see how the Broadchurch repeats rate from tomorrow onwards.

Not impossible that Soccer Aid will go to penalties. After what happened in the tennis, there'll be street riots if they throw it on ITV4

Yes the news about the Newark by-election would have added some viewers, and once again extra viewers went to Breakfast and not Good Morning Britain.

It does look low, although perhaps some thought it was a rpt? Its bordering into the territory of late daytime.
I used to like the Canadian Grand Prix because for many years it was the only Grand Prix ITV showed entirely in primetime (the US Grand Prix didn't follow until a while into their contract and the others were all over by 7pm at the latest), which meant Corrie would have to move and therefore in turn BBC1 had to move everything around to avoid Corrie, leading to some very weird junctions. |

And again, why not suggest ITV show the Cenotaph? That's quite short, is at a time when they tend not to show anything else of interest and is just as moving as the D Day commemorations. What's the difference?
What would be the point of ITV showing the Cenotaph, as the national broadcaster the BBC has shown it since 1947 and most people would expect to find it on the BBC. How would ITV offer some sort of alternative coverage and indeed would they want to do so ? |

The conclusion we've reached from the tennis is that ITV should probably show the Mens Final on ITV but everything else including the ladies final and any Murray matches should all stay on ITV4.
The heavy promotion of ITV Encore obviously because it is a joint venture with Sky, they don't know the meaning of soft launches. They know it benefits both parties to promote this, just like when they promoted the BBC's extra Olympic channels as a way to drive subscriptions. |

Take Me Out against Strictly isn't actually itv giving up though. In 2012 it often had more 16-34's watching than Strictly. Even on its low total numbers, it was still delivering over 1m of them.
It will give Strictly some free reign - Strictly thrives on those older viewers and Take Me Out really doesn't appeal to them at all so it makes life easy for BBC1. But outside this thread, it's not all about denting and beating, certainly not for itv who have to actually make some money. TMO does a job for them and that's why they might be going with that instead of Celebrity Chase. |

Sarah Phelps's adaptation of Great Expectations is one of my favourite versions. She hasn't done much new apart from EastEnders but the BBC went to her with some high profile projects. Must think a lot of her.....which makes The Crimson Field decision baffling.

You don't get the feeling this autumn's series of Take Me Out will be its last, as a few people were suggesting on previous parts of the Ratings Thread?
