they filmed it in June and July 2013. It was announced with great fanfare in march 2013.
it's going to be a great steaming turd and they clearly don't have a clue what on earth to do with it Still Open All Hours was announced last October, location filmed in November, recorded in December and aired on Boxing day. Car Share is taking longer in production than a Nick Park animation! |

Good rating for Masterchef, I think it is great complimentary scheduling during the World Cup, a nice alternative for those uninterested in football.

Eastenders is getting rave reviews in the DS soap forum, but I'm not convinced that typical viewers share the enthusiasm of some DS members. It's definitely improved but still seems far from perfect to me.

Absolutely dismal for Enders.

I'm very surprised how badly EE is doing in these clashes. When it was strong in 2010/2011 it used to run Emmerdale extremely close and even beat it despite 30minutes headstart from Emmerdale. It appears its not quite as strong as we might have thought. The damage Kirkwood and Newman have done is going to be forever apparent.

Wow, I know there was a clash but EE was low!

Not sure what you can do about Emmerdale. Its like a thorn lurking in the background waiting for when Eastenders to get a bit of air in it so it can rush on and burst it. And even though ED is effectively sacrificed by ITV its not really losing out at all. Anything beginning with a 4 for a soap is dreadful and it must be pretty soul destroying for the Eastenders hierarchy.
Ideally Eastenders would want the relatively free run that Coronation Street gets to nurse itself through the quieter periods. Not sure what schedule would give it that luxury though but- ITV wont leave it alone as things stand. |

more worrying for BB. with the hype of it being so explosive they couldn't repeat in the daytime it appears to have had no effect on the ratings.
did the numbers for BOTS improve? |

For BB it says 1.2m (103k on +1), but what was the 1.2m rounded from? (in terms of 1.15m-1.24m)
It is disappointing though. Average for first week BB14 was 1.32m to be honest, first Tuesday last year got 1.26m (however that was excluding +1). |

Another Emmerdale v EastEnders clash on Friday- and next week EE goes out at 7pm Mon,Tue,Wed & Fri (Emmerdale is on ITV at 7.30pm) so can see its ratings remaining under 6 million.

Digiguide shows a 30 min over lap between two hour long eps of Corrie and Eastenders on Mon June 23rd - with Corrie having the half hour head start.
And Surley ITV would be nuts (but it wouldnt surprise me) to run this schedule on Fri 27th June 7.00 Emmerdale 7.30 Corrie 8.00 Emmerdale 8.30 Corrie |

It's getting good reviews from longtine viewers and critics who had been slating it before. But EastEnders lost the viewer loyalty. It has shown that viewers will still watch with the right storyline, perhaps some of the current ones aren't as compelling compared to a few weeks ago.

Solid night for C5 with The Dog Rescuers and CSI increasing to 1.34M and 1.42M respectively. BB's audience share of just under 8% also looks decent enough.

Ouch, horrible rating for EE, one of the first of many it will suffer over the next few weeks.

Pretty certain I read that Miranda isn't ever coming back because Miranda is busy doing too many other things.
The lady that plays her mother was on Graham Norton's radio show a few weeks ago and she reckons it's unlikely there will be another series any time soon but expects there will be a special at some point. I mean it did end on a cliff-hanger - they can't just keep us hanging forever can they? |

Tom Ellis has a new US TV series so it's unlikely we'll see another series but specials are more likely. Miranda also has a supporting role in a new film Spy which has Melissa McCarthy and Jason Statham.

The longer they leave it, the more unrealistic resuming the cliffhanger will look. Remember she'd just been proposed to at the end of the last episode! Perhaps they'd just have to flash forward to the wedding a few years down the line. Nice Christmas wedding special to end it. Of course once she gets married the premise of the show is gone anyway. But surely they have to show her getting married for a satisfactory ending!
