I wish they still did. I miss those. And the Kiwi ones, too, although they were posted very infrequently

Good to see ITV repeating Rik Mayall Presents.

Samuel has gone too far this time!

@simonhardwick (Broadcast Engineer for ITV)
ITV's World Cup studio in Brazil has suffered minor damage by protestors throwing objects at the media complex.

Disgraceful. That poster should have been banned for life for taking a Ratings Thread so far off topic.

Mediaweek reports Channel 5 has been hit by an advertising blow with one key agency refusing any further spend with them for the remainder of the year, a move which could cost them as much as £30M. Insiders speculating it's likely down to a volume commitment with ITV.

http://www.mediaweek.co.uk/article/1...vertising-exit

One step forwards, two steps back. Tough pill for the new owners to swallow having invested heavily in order to acquire the channel. Interesting C5 highlight Big Brother's strong 16-34 performance in an unusually defensive response. But it might be worth clarifying what measure they are using in which it comes out on top.

Just proves that C5 have no interest in dropping BB.

An eventful first day of The World Cup from demonstrations to Brazil v Croatia to the ITV studio coming under attack. I am hooked!

Ratings should be good.

There's no need for him with Andy and H of De Vil around, both of them combined are far worse than George, at least he had a bit of humour.

Haha I saw he posts in the broadcasting forum... Where Samuel is making guest apperances to bash ITV on the French open, and now the World Cup...! Yeah I've been stalking you all for 9 years!!

Did I say he was. He's just as bad. If Andy and H are George with the humour stripped out, Samuel is Robbie.

They really should, it's the UK TV Forum Ratings thread.

I've repeatedly asked for an International tv forum to be set up, only for DS to say there is no requirement as there are not enough relevant posts. Putting off topic stats into this thread means it's missed by the powers that be. Putting the information into an easily referenced thread in the Broadcasting forum (as it does not fall under US or UK or a genre specific forum) would show that there is an interest in it.

I got a question about global World Cup ratings: Will they get posted here? If so, in which thread, this one or another one?

Not if you read the DS thread for it heh.

I giggled myself silly when I read that thread, everybody everywhere else loved that opening ceremony but DS being Ds hated it of course.

That may have been because their studio kept coming under attack from rock throwers.

You mean like the BBC did during the Olympics, I know its shocking isn't it.

(Extreme sarcasm mode for those who thought I was being serious)

UK TV Ratings ‏@TVRatingsUK 54s
The first match of the World Cup, Brazil v Croatia, yesterday peaked with a massive 12.61m/52.9% at 9.30pm.

UK TV Ratings ‏@TVRatingsUK 5s
ITV's full coverage, from 7 to 11.15pm, averaged 8.20m/40.3%. The match itself averaged over 11 million.

Crikey! That's pretty darn good.

Bloody hell! As soon as I seen EastEnders rating, I knew it would be high.

Fantastic numbers!

Looks as if, BBC ratings last night took as much of a hit as the ITV studio.

What was the average of the game last night, but full slot and the game itself.
