Lol @ the people wetting their knickers/pants at the EE ratings too.. aww.. maybe they're defending it because of the disadvantages??? If there was no clash/World Cup and it went this low then FAIR DUES but it wasn't was it? It was getting 6/7 millions viewers just last week....

However, it was clearly listed in the week's Radio Times (available over a week in advance) as 7pm, and the EPG was also correct. The only thing lacking was a trailer/caption campaign on broadcast TV (although it is debatable as to how many viewers would have seen such a caption anyway()

Not really.

19:00 to 19:30 - 17.2m
19:10 to 19:40 - 17.3m
19:40 to 19:50 - 16.8m
19:50 to 20:00 - 17.7m
20:05 to 20:30 - 20.6m
20:35 to 21:30 - 23.1m
21:35 to 22:00 - 22.5m

Nice to know EE is officially in a ratings crisis now, Samuel has lit the bomb in the soap forum!

Yes its a poor rating but I don't think its worth going overboard about it.

My post was referring to the 8pm episode of Emmerdale which was mosyt definitely not just 10 minutes out of slot but in fact an additional episode, that went up against the high rating football. Considering on a Thursday ED loses about a million viewers between the 7pm and 8pm episode, the fact that it increased its rating yesterday was quite remarkable. Eastenders on the other hand doesn't appear to have the brand loyalty that Emmerdale and Corrie have which still do well out of slot

We've got to make exceptions for all the soaps (the 'big 3') for the next month or so as they will be out of slot several times so low ratings will be expected.

A nice quiet Saturday morning on here...

EE shouldnt be falling as low as 3.9million though. Especially with a lead-in for almost 5m from the regional news. Coro got almost 2m more than it.

I don't read Radio times lol as I watch BBC a lot a trailer as you say would have been good 👍

According to my memory, EE didnt fall below 4million against the Olympic games when it aired on bbc2. So it shouldnt have been falling that low yesterday.

For once I agree with you.

3.98m is not a good figure but I have to say I had no idea it was on at 7 last night until 5 minutes beforehand. Was there a BBC3 repeat? That may tell us more. But yes a dire rating for EE.

You know it's a bad BBC rating when even Samuel is sticking the boot in

Meh. Low figure for EE. It was out of its usual slot, it was Friday, it's World Cup season and it was bloody warm.

When it starts regularly hitting 3.9m we will have something to talk about. A one off figure isn't so special.

In fairness Sam not everyone watching the news would have been an EE fan.

A greater propensity for the EE audience to now use iPlayer or PVRs for timeshifting? As a Doctor Who viewer I am acutely aware of the way that technology has moved in the space of a few years, and how the DW audience has been quick to embrace that technology.

The consolidated figures, plus those of the BBC Three repeat, will be interesting.

Think it's obvious to see ShITV don't care about Emmerdale Farm like they do Corrie👎👎👎

My statistical analysis suggests that for the 5pm world cup coverage about 12million people were watching tv, and for 11pm world cup coverage about 10m or so were watching tv. This favours very favourably to the last world cup when for 3pm games about 9m people were watching tv and the earlier kick off of 12.30pm had around 7million watching tv.

EastEnders is on at 7pm all next week is it not? But with Emmerdale at 7.30pm. So EE should manage 4.5m ?

Yes but let them have their fun! some have been waiting for this day a long time. Forget all the factors you listed. I imagine when EE is back to its usual ratings in two weeks all this will be forgotten
