A brilliant promo for The Great British Bake Off just now during Match of the Day. Fantastic cross-promotional opportunity for the show during a high profile England game. The promo said it's starting in the summer.

What next, the Doctor and Clara cheering on the boys in the TARDIS?

Doesn't really tell us anything we didn't already know, probably just starting in August like the previous series. Week after Commonwealth Games maybe? (Edit: Actually, that might be a week or two too early.)

How very whoreish of the BBC.

If that had been an XF promo Samuel would have demanded a full ofcom inquiry

It's like The Olympics again. BBC1 using it to promote upcoming programmes.

Well the BBC have made a big mistake giving Phil Neville such a prominent position, not heard a positive comment about him yet, they have also put England scoring on board,so they do make mistakes as well!

I'm willing to give him a chance. Early days for him but he's not a Gary Neville.

He does fit well in with BBC vanilla style of coverage. Harmless controversy free bland talking head

The BBC love twitter! They've truly United a nation. They've even got their own staff and mp's to agree on a topic #monotone

If it stays like this ITV will have potentially two cliff hanger games to showcase.

Yeah he's not improved. Very strange decision and by the BBC. No doubt a big audience will question what the hell the thinking was giving him the big game

The content isn't bad, the delivery is just mind numbing. Nerves or not, plenty of BBC talent about. I almost miss Lawro

ITV will be delighted with this outcome

I imagine the audience has dropped by a good few million in the past half hour or so. Paint drying might be more rewarding.
