Afternoon everyone, hope you are all enjoying the month of June- Everyone is going to be on the edge of their seats in tonight's edition as Billy Mitchell, yet again, behaves like a blundering idiot.
How long was it since that little gem propped up before?

I sincerely hope Lucy's killer is a family member of either the Brannings/Butchers, Masoods, Mitchells, Carters, Moon/Slaters, or dare I say it? A Beale family member. As that would have major repercussions on the Square. It would be a major cop out for me anyway, if the killer was a stand alone character like Aleks, Jake, or a new character introduced halfway through the story arc.

Rate EastEnders this year five months in:

As you can already see, this is the question in the poll. I'm giving the show a firm 7! As the show has most definitely improved for the better under Dominic Treadwell-Collins. While there is still some aspects of the show that I'm not happy on. The overuse of Shirley Carter, the pacing of storylines, and the poor characterisation of the male characters in the show, for instance. But as a whole, 2014 is shaping up to be a very solid year for EastEnders, and hopefully it keeps on going from strength to strength as the year progresses on.

Now, here is the synopsis for the episode:

Spoiler
Billy tries to spend as much time as possible with the kids before they leave. He even gets support from Ian, who gives him the day off. Roxy also gets involved by urging Honey to change her mind, but she won't be swayed.

Later, Billy makes a desperate move when he finds the kids' passports and can't resist burning Janet's…

Meanwhile, Tosh and Dean start to clash at the flat when Aleks decides to implement some house rules. At the same time, Tina stresses over a work ball that she is attending with Tosh. Later, Tina seeks a bit of Dutch courage at The Albert, but she goes too far by getting drunk and making a fool of herself as Dean meddles in her and Tosh's relationship.

Elsewhere, a concerned Sharon makes some progress as she tries to get Ian to open up to her, but Phil undoes all of her hard work when he storms into the house and starts firing accusations at Ian. A distraught Ian denies Phil's allegations. However, when Ian is alone later, he makes a suspicious phone call.

Also today, Bianca decides to get involved in a dodgy deal set up by Alfie in an attempt to solve her money worries. When Alfie changes his mind, she is left worried about what to do next.

Finally, Sonia is sent home early from a nursing shift after falling asleep and tells Bianca that she is facing a disciplinary.

What upcoming event excites you the most?

There is plenty to look forward in regards to EastEnders as the year rolls by. What are you persoanlly looking forward to seeing the most?

For me, it is most definitely Stacey's full time return to the show. I totally understand that she tends to divide people on here. But I personally find her a very entertaining character, and Lacey Turner is a very strong actress.

And with:
Spoiler
Gillian Wright returning as Jean Slater, you just know that there is going to be powerful and emotional scenes between Jean and Stacey.
The mother/daughter bipolar storyline was absolutely flawless for the most part, and I look forward to seeing it being picked up again.

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the episode this evening, and let's hope Billy Mitchell can provide some form of entertainment without us wanting to bang our heads against a brick wall. Sorry Vald . Just remembered you are one of his few fans on here .

I gave it a 6. We've had some big progress with the introduction of the Carters and I can't wait to find out more about Les and Pam. But there is still a lot of deadwood and bad writing to sort out.

Talking of which, what has happened to that awful Donna on the market?

I've given it an 8. Really enjoying it so far and there's only been a couple of missteps for me.

Looking forward to tonight's episodes, Daran Little ones are always my favourite.

Thanks for the thread Aaron!

Hope everyone is well.

I went for a 9, thats mainly because I feel the cast and crew deserve it after putting in a hard slog which has turned the show around. Quality alone and I'd have gone with an 8.

Thanks for the thread Aaron. Gave an 8 as overall I think the show has been brought back from near death status which is no mean feat in 6/8 months

Great OP Aaron.

I voted 7 as it really only found its stride at Easter. It's been a very good year thus far but I think there's better to come as the foundations have been firmly set in place.

Evening all.

Evening all I would vote 7

It isn't as good as everyone is saying

Neither was last year as bad as everyone is saying

No more Carter's and there are still too many underused characters in the show and therefore some deadwood needs to go
