Online sites to buy CD's from?

Over the last few years the majority of the websites which I used to pre-order cd's from have disappeared (i.e. HMV and Sainsbury's). I know that you have the likes of Tesco's, Asda and obviously Amazon but where else is there online? I would use the local HMV but that is 30 minute drive.

I don't want to turn to downloads just yet!

I just bow to the inevitable and go to Amazon (clearing it with my conscience later) since most dealers seem to operate through them anyway.

WOW HD are good. They're always having sales (e.g. 20% off all CDs) and they're often a lot cheaper than Amazon. For example I was having a look at the new Beyonce CD and it's only £5.24 on WOW HD, compared to £11 from Amazon/£9.75 from Amazon marketplace.

Ebay are fine for CD's. You still get them in some shops too. Big Asda near me still sells them and a lot of the bigger Tesco stores still sell them.

How have I never heard of this before? Just bought Miranda Lambert's new album for £7.99. Thank you!

I exclusively use Amazon. It not only sources through sellers so you can buy at the cheapest price but there's an auto rip (i think that's what its called) which is so great because you buy the physical copy and then (with most CD's) you get a download link type thing to download the songs so you can put the music on your ipod as well as in your car without having to buy it twice or waste time trying to get the songs off of your CD to your music folder.

I used to use HMV though I miss that site.

This is my only gripe with using other sites. I like the auto rip feature.

Thatsentertainment.co.uk is a great site. They sell a lot of used CDs for as little as a pound. I usually buy from there or go into one of the shops because they sell everything so much cheaper than amazon or iTunes!

I've used them before, they are pretty good.

I've just pre-ordered Jlo's new album from wowHD for £7 (the deluxe version) so thank you to who recommended that site!

For those who want something off the mainstream you could try bandcamp (www.bandcamp.co.uk)

CD's, vinyl and cassettes are available on there, and all of them allow you to download what you have just bought straight away.

Alternatively you could try direct from the bands website or record label

Fixed that for you, Bandcamp don't actually own the co.uk domain

I've never been near them since they became Rakuten's play.com

It makes it sound like some kind of Russian porno site.

I find this site useful for comparing http://www.find-cd.co.uk

I used wow when they were cd wow, I think the CDs came from Asia so took a while to be delivered? Might be different now though, the website is registered in Australia.

And often the CDs were Asian pressings, missing UK bonus tracks.
