Why is it that Bianca just has one job

Whilst Sonia has a good amount of jobs? Hardly seems fair does it, in terms of supporting the house. And I can't stand Carol, thinking that hoping for the best will make it all okay

You can pretty much guarantee that Bianca won't be making anywhere near enough money to support that house and those kids by selling dresses in a tacky East London market.

The financial affairs of Eastenders characters has never made sense.

You'd think Bianca would look for a full time job that offers regular payment to support her family rather than going to Alfie for dodgy deals or moaning on that their cashpoint (ie. David),has gone. Though I guess, if that happened there wouldn't be a story. Its obviously going to feed into her leaving story. Oh dear. Haha.

I would imagine she only works or earns enough so as not to effect her benefits!!

I presume it is because she has the kids to look after while Rebecca is a little older, also with Martin lurking in the background. In reality of course you never see Bianca with the kids. She's always following Sonia around mouthing off.

She has a criminal record, its a wonder she has one, never mind two

In the real world, someone like Bianca wouldn't be working at all, she would be on benefits, instead we have her trying to sell tacky clothes off a market stall, as if that would support all her brood. Also, speaking of Sonia, who has made a career for herself in nursing, which will be coming to an end pretty soon, I guess, as she has had a warning at work about falling asleep, or something. We all know that no one is allowed to work outside the Square, so I can see a dismissal coming a mile off, then she will quite happily run a "stall"or work in the caff, like all the other losers.

It's amazing how on soaps people with good jobs either get the sack or leave just to end up in a dead end job on the Square or Street etc.

Bianca got a hairdressing qualification in prison (iirc). Even if she wasn't able to be a fulltime hairdresser she could still make a bit of extra cash by doing a few haircuts here and there.

Yeah .. just because he's gone doesn't mean she can't ring him up and ask for his support. Remember when him scamming Janine out of her money and then investing in the car lot was for the financial security of his family? Has that just stopped now just because him and Carol didn't work out? Completely unrealistic.

Sonia is helping out in the café to keep Carol's job open, however to do this she is neglecting her full time job at the hospital, lying to take time off. Most of her money will be going into her own home and family and as she doesn't live with her mum she can't really contribute much to the household.

Bianca found it impossible to find work in the square after being in prison so started her own business on the market with Kat. Kat has been off sick for a while and Bianca is struggling to run the stall full time, look after her family and her sick mother, with David gone. Kat has always been the brains behind the business and they were able to share the workload, but on her own Bianca will soon get in a mess.

That'd be a nice theory but Whitney and now Liam seem to do the bulk of the child caring.

In reality you'd expect the market to close up by about 4pm so she could do something after that - shifts in the cafe (which seems to stay open into the evening), Minute Mart of fish and chips shops. But no, Sonia who has a very responsible job with long hours is expected to do it all.

What's Whitney doing employment wise these days? Is she still at the School? Fair enough but she could take some shifts after School finishes in the afternoon (not like she has marking to do or lesson plans to prepare like Teachers) or especially during the holidays.

Exactly. I wondered why David's investment into 'Deals on Wheels' hadn't been addressed. Definitely unrealistic.

Carol mentioned on Monday that David had withdrawn all his money from the car lot over the weekend so I guess he's abandoned all financial commitment to them.

Yeah that's true, it's a bit unrealistic though surely David would help her out as when he returned in 2013 he wanted to give bianca money. Surely as her dad he wouldn't let her be this skint especially when he always said he wants to make up for not being there, just bring David back!

4 pm ? I'd say later than that. And then everything has to be carefully packed away and put into storage and the stall dismantled. Then there's the books, banking and searching out new stock. She also has two upset children on her hands because their granddad has disappeared, Liam studying for exams, a sick mother and Whitney with her own job. She's also worried sick about her dad who is not answering his phone.

The only way Sonia has been able to help is to take sick/holiday leave from her job...all paid of course.

You'd think so but then David has always been a bit unreliable. I love him but there's no real getting away from that. Plus, maybe he feels let down by the family - they did very much seem to take Carol's side and perhaps he thinks he needs the money himself as he's got to start fresh somewhere else.

Makes me wonder if he's been taken ill wherever he is and needs his money for medical care.

This attitude all the Jackson women seem to have that the men must go away all together when they are dumped to make it 'easier' does rather shoot them in the foot financially. If David had stayed in the Square he could have stayed on at the Car Lot and still contributed but now he needs money for a new home and a new business. Exactly the same thing happened with Ricky. They force him to leave his job at the Arches when he could have lived with Janine so still helped out because Bianca would find it too 'painful' to see him everyday. This meant his only real option was to stay with his other sister Diane in France where it would be difficult for him to find work as he didn't speak the language. So of course, he had no money to send back to help support his kids even though I'm sure he would have wanted to.

This is one of the reasons I can't wait for her to leave. I'm sick to death of her money worries.

Yes it's daft. But with Sid Owen and Michael French determined to leave the show logic had to be thrown out the window. It was the same when Nina left...she flounced off to the other side of the world.

Which raises another question. Why do people who leave always end up in other countries? Do they not know England stretches beyond Walford?

Marjets may be different but the ones I know in Central London (Leather Lane for example) start closing up mid afternoon. Chelmsford and Basildon market are the same. She does also have a partner on the stall - she doesn't have to everything herself and Alfie could help out as well. I'm not saying it's not a hard, tiring job and somebody shouldn( have to do a second one but they are In unusual circumstances and Sonia also shouldn't be hvaing to carry the load. She hasn't done it all by taking holiday and sick leave (which could get her sacked if discovered) - she said on Monday she was due at the Hospital in a couple of hours and she wouldn't keep falling asllep if she weren't trying to do too much. Also, again, what about Whitney? Schools certainly finish mid afternoon and as pointed out, she won't have the 'our of hours' responsibilities that teachers do like marking and lesson plans. It is of course possible that she has to supervise after school clubs which it'd be fair enough to explain where she is but then Tiff and Morgan could go there if they exist and be looked after. Plus, Rebecca seems to be acting as child minder when she's seen and bear in mind she's actually younger than 2 of Bianca's children and only a couple of years older than Tiffany.

Bianca has 2 upset kids now but what about when David was still around - couldn't she have done a few shifts then? If she did, we never saw her.

Very true. You've hit the nail on the head though - the actors choose to leave and to stop fans constantly asking why they don't come back to see their kids, weddings, funerals etc it is easier to say that they are hundreds if not thousands of miles away so can't be expected to just pop back.

BIB Kat is off sick and Alfie will see her and his unborn twins as his priority.

BIB The only time that we saw Rebecca with Tiffany and Morgan Whitney was there, albeit upstairs. She snapped at Morgan for playing on his game, even though she could have easily left the room if the noise was bothering her. Fair enough Tiff shouldn't have been using her laptop, but I'm not buying into saint Sonia and Rebecca. The girl seems to have inherited her mothers bossy streak. Sonia even overrode Bianca's order to Liam to call an ambulance....some nurse.

BIB Ian refused to employ Bianca again after she came out of prison.
