Lucy's death and aftermath

So we a few months down the line now since Lucys, what are your opinions on the storyline so far?

Are you happy with how the storyline is progressing?

Is there anything that you'd have done differently?

Lucy who?

Bored of it already, still 8 months to go

I'm loving it. It's so much more than the average whodunnit, where you normally know how the victim died, where they died, the object that killed them and the motive of every suspect. Lucy's story has hardly touched on any of these questions, and the grief has been put at the forefront. The aftermath episode was one of EastEnders' best this decade, if not ever. The grief is raw and it's rooted in truth, just as Dom said it would be.

The trouble is that Ian is someone I don't care about, I didn't like Lucy, and Peter and Jane are bores. They sent away the most interesting character...Cindy.

Then we have the sleazy Max and Jake and detectives Sharon and Phil, who should stick to their day jobs.

I'm really enjoying it. I like the pace and the long time frame doesn't bother me.

I'm really enjoying it at the moment.

tbh I am finding it all very slow and tedious - I know the reveal isnt going to happen until February BUT something needs to happen soon for me otherwise this SL isnt going to hold my interest until then

But even though you don't care about Ian you wouldn't axe him would you?

I'm really enjoying it but could someone tell me if they know how she died because they have released her body so surely the coroner must know? I'm not sure if I've missed something

There's been mentions of trauma to the head but no suggestions as to what may have caused it.

I'm already bored of it and I'm sick of the sight of Ian. He needs to go on holiday for a while.

I'm enjoying it, with other storylines carrying on and people going back to work it shows life goes back to normal really pretty quickly. Also, it's reality that murder cases or other crimes are not always solved quickly, sometimes not at all.

I'm a bit tired of it already. I don't really care about Lucy as a character.

I do like Ian but his grief doesn't seem any different from any other time he has a setback, like when one of his million wives walks out on him.

Hopefully it'll be linked to the body in the coffin, Charlie and Mrs Doyle, Stacey's key and all that stuff, rather than just having a load of random mysteries which don't tie together.

I think Ronnie did it and Charlie helped her move the body and that there'll be a link with Carl's dodgy dealings.

Nobody will even remember this storyline by next year

I am loving it. They have basically turned the usual soap whodunit on its head entirely.

Instead of having all of the 'suspects' looking shifty and acting secretively all of the time, everyone is going about as normal, and the story is absolutely centered around family grief rather than a sensational soap story. The web of secrets and lies keeps tangling and by the time of the reveal next week - we will have an incredible stage for the characters to play on.

I'm getting a bit bored of it to be honest. I don't buy Ian as a suspect and I hope to god they reveal his secret whereabouts soon as I'm finding it rather tedious. Doesn't help that Denise is off screen as past the immediate post-death episodes it's her perspective I've found most interesting. Each to their own but I'm really struggling to see what is so groundbreaking about this story. Tbh I feel the whole show is levelling out at mediocrity, imo the DTC honeymoon period is well and truly over which is a shame as I loved his first couple of months. It felt like a proper drama for a little bit, now it's just Santer era mark 2.

The aftermath is remarkable, I love how it's still being mentioned a month and a bit since it happened, you hardly get that in soap land.

I'm loving the SL so far. I like how EE also have the other SL's going on too, whilst this is being bought forward every now & again. The time length don't bother me. Let the other 8 months roll on.

It's interesting when new plot twists about Lucy's murder keep reappearing on the cover of Inside Soap.
