In a move to cut costs they decided to give video cameras to three kids from an infants school and let them produce that trash.
I've always hated the character of Kerry but she's now more childish and unbearable than ever before and now even the onetime decent actress is getting hammier by the day. Almost every fecking scene she has to be doing something which is supposed to be hilarious but all it is is silly childish random crap to make up what has become a completely ridiculous unbelievable panto character. The less said about the atrocious Dan gurner the better.
David and his half painted face. So predictable under KO. Ali gurning her way through scenes. Amelia as annoying as ever.Thankfully Donna's girl wasn't there as well.
Patrick Mower Omg. Has he ever acted as badly as that in his entire career?
Eric now rivals Sandy as the biggest ham in the show. A very unfunny joke of what he once was.
The smell of cheese would have been whiffed down in Cornwall the day that shite was filmed.
Embarrasing Kate.

They did sky diving with Jackson didn't they, couldn't they have thought of something different to do?

I thought Patrick acted his socks off. I think it's more down to the fact he's so rarely given any material these days, so it seemed to come out of nowhere!

It's not unusual for people to do something big like sky diving to raise money.

I enjoyed it a lot. Also thought Laura Norton was brilliant as usual. I welled up when Kerry ran and threw herself at Dan like that.

Also thought Chris Chittell was great too.

All in all a very enjoyable ep and clearly not too many viewers switched over to EE half way through either.

Spunger in hating ED shocker

I have praised the writing and acting in CS because it has deserved it. I will start praising ED when KO stops serving farther gag slipping on a banana level humour than went out with Charlie Chaplin and the actors stop hamming it up like they are in some cheap Panto.
It's not even just the joke actors like Rishi, Jai, Sean. It's now so bad it's spreading to the onetime decent actors. Something is going wrong when that happens.

Bragging about ratings of below 5.7 million and a 28% share. That shows how far the show has slipped.

Sorry, but Laura Norton is now another one of the shows big hams. Her insulting joke material has finnaly got to her. And no wonder because it must be soul destroying for an adult to keep being given such childish trash.

Could've been worse. Could've been 4.9m with under 24% share.

Not often I agree with Spungy but he does have a point.
Emmy is getting way too daft of late and I'm growing increasingly bored of Val and her ridiculously tedious antics.

Like when she grabbed that microphone last night, completely over the top and unnecessary.
Ditto ringing for an ambulance before they were even airborne.
About as funny as a slap round the mush with a shovel.
She's a grown woman not a twelve year old for goodness sake.
She's dragging Eric down with her too sadly.

I'm feeling incredibly tired of both of them.

The frustrating part of this is that the ED have shown they can do so much better than this. The ones when Cain and Ross stole the cars was a great piece of light entertainment. But it still felt like i was watching a show that was aimed at adults and not something that should have been shown on CBeebies like last nights garbage.

Fair enough. I know it was a tad ott in parts and Val can be a hard woman to love, (although I still manage it, lol and so does Eric), but when she demanded to have an ambulance on standby, I burst out laughing at the sheer gall of the woman. And I do like how she's now trying to do something good for once in her life with her charitable foundation and from the spoilers I think all the marital drama and to-ing and fro-ing will be over soon.

I stopped watching Emmerdale some time, when it became too dire. I switched over to it last evening, hoping 'my' Emmerdale might have come back. I saw some old men jump out of a plane, two ugly women sitting on a bench smoking themselves to death, a five-year-old Shirley Temple wannabee holding a church service in the middle of a field, someone in the sweet factory picked up one sweet and put it in to a jar while another employee (looked like one of the ugly women on the bench) fondled another employees head. That is when I gave up. If you want to send me a box of chocolates, UQ, please make sure they don't come from Sharmas.
Would it have been more acceptable to you if they were beautiful women, (which at least one of them was imo)?

Well I hope last night's episode put the minds of those complaining about the loss of a 'village feel' at rest

I thought that last night's episode was uplifting, joyful and very entertaining. I haven't been totally into the Val and Eric storyline, but the resolution made me smile a lot, as did Kerry's reaction to Dan's proposal. It was a positive episode with a lot of happy villagers, and that was really nice to see.

It certainly cheered me up Pan. It was only yesterday I was agreeing with a post saying we hadn't had any village events for ages. Was great to see but small niggles; I wish more villagers had been involved. Where were all the oldies? Ashley and Harriet (village vicar surely could have been there?) No Dingles nor Bartons there. Hardly any of the kids. Shame as it could have bought the whole village together like the old village events used to.

I certainly wouldn't wish a box of Sharma chocs on you Janet.
They'd have been mauled by Kerry, manipulated by Leyla, screamed at by Lisa, hen-pecked by Laurel and grinned at by Megan.
So goodness only knows what shape they'd be in by the time they reached you.

Anyway, I had you down as a soft-centres type of gal mate.

Just an odd observation - but I only just realised 'Dan' was ' Derwent' in an episode of 'dinnerladies'! The 'Catering' episode with Sue Cleaver.

Did Eric really do his sky dive?
To me it looked as though he did.
If so, well done Eric!
Val ringing an ambulance was a bit pathetic, though at the end of the programme it looked as though it really was needed.

I agree I enjoyed last night's hour long episode. I thought Eric was brilliant pouring his heart out to Rodney. Liked the way Moira and Lisa were connecting and also Cain and Zak. I love the scenes between those two.
Also liked James talking to Adam about John and the natural way Adam enquired why he didn't attend his own brother's funeral which made it seem very real.
Couldn't stop laughing when things were getting a bit heated and Chas asked if anyone was looking forward to the World Cup to try and change the conversation.

I love Kerry I didn't at the start but she has grown on me. Even Edna got involved in the fundraising for Val. Didn't get why Val didn't go with Eric in the ambulance.
Where was Marlon and Paddy to add to it all.

It was all rather silly.....but at the same time it was like a breath of fresh air .....it was nice to have a break from all the intensity and the screaming and shouting which is CS at the moment and have some light hearted humour for a change......even if it was slightly childish...
