EE - Update me please: Lucy Beale
Sorry to ask, but I've completely lost the plot on EE (my fault because I don't really watch it often, but I was interested in Ian Beale)
Can someone give me a brief summary of what happend to Lucy and why and who? thanks! |

In the run up to her death we found out she had a cocaine addiction, she was banging Max Branning. She slept twice with Danny Dyers son, whilst Warren off of Hollyoaks watched through a window. She started a lettings business with local fully recovered alcoholic property mogul Lauren Branning.
She disappeared from a party on the night of her death, as she was meeting a client of Lauren's who turned out to be Warren off of Hollyoaks, who thought he was meeting Lauren (probably to bang her too.) The other Beales were having a family gathering in their restaurant. Cindy Jnr Jnr Jnr gave Ian a false alibi and said he was there all night. The next morning, Lucy's body was discovered on Walford Common, a magically appearing park somewhere near the square. The police have pieced together that she wasn't killed there, and whoever dumped her there staged a mugging gone wrong. Her blood was found in Warren off of Hollyoaks and European Aleks's flat, but the police are saying she wasn't killed there either. It's known that Warren off of Hollyoaks and Lucy took a cab back to the square after their meeting. Selfish Jane wasted no time after finding out the news of her demise, she dragged on her best cardigan, smashed Ian's favourite wine glass and had her way with him right there on the floor. That's everything we know. |

I'm not sure how much or how little you've been watching but I'm going to try to summarise what's happened and a few revelations that have came out since her death and I hope it makes at least some partial sense.
In the run up to Lucy's death Lucy wasn't seen doing a massive amount on camera until the few weeks before she died, even then we were only shown bits and pieces about her life so a lot of things are ambiguous. Before she died however she was seen starting her own business with Lauren as her business partner, named LB Lettings, she was shown to embark upon a brief affair with Max Branning (wrap your head around that one) and on the day before her death she slept with Mick Carter's son Lee and was discovered by Ian to have at the very least a casual cocaine habit. The cocaine habit actually led to an argument with Ian on Good Friday before Lucy received a text and then walked off into the night, the next we see of Lucy she is lying dead in Walford Common, a local woodland area, with no explanation of how she got there. Since Lucy died there has been a heavy flow of suspects but there's been nothing that I would call concrete yet. We know for a fact that peripheral character Jake Stone had emailed Lucy's business account under an alias and arranged a meeting on the night of her death and that detail, along with Lucy's blood being found in Jake's flat led to Lucy's arrest. In the eyes of many Jake is a clear and blatant red herring and he himself insists he'd emailed in the hopes of meeting Lauren at the flat instead of Lucy because he's in love with Lauren. After a prison visit to Jake on Monday, Sharon and Phil are now convinced of his innocence as well. While the main focus has been on Jake a few other things have transpired, Abi Branning knew about Max and Lucy's affair long in advance to the point where she emailed him anonymously a photo of them kissing, Ian the grief stricken father lied about his whereabouts when Lucy died for an unknown reason (as did Lee the Carter boy) and Tamwar discovered a note written in one of Lucy's flower arrangements with "Rot In Hell" written on it. Tamwar later worked out that the note was written by Whitney who seemed to be behind the scenes arguing with Lucy. Whitney claims the note was a minute of rage and the arguments didn't lead to anything else but time will tell if that's the truth. I'd say there's a few other bits and pieces I'm forgetting to mention but that's the general gist ![]() Edit- in the time it took me to type JB wrote up an even better account, I'd completely forgotten is slept with Jane after Lucy's death! Also that Denise desperately feels trapped in a relationship with Ian that she badly wanted to end the night before Lucy's death. |
