People's negativity towards android.
This isn't strictly a mobile phone issue but I still notice a great deal of ingrained even subconscious negativity towards android. One example is my recent purchase of the Sony Z2 tablet. When telling people what I have they ask how much it cost and when I tell them they reply,"you could have got an Apple for that price". It's the same when people see my HTC M8,they often remark inquisitively why didn't you upgrade to an iPhone? These people aren't meaning to be negative and certainly aren't techy people, just your run of the mill Apple user.I'm posting this because I wanted to know why people have these views and where they come from. In my book both OS are neck and neck.

Apple fans think they are superior. Its all down to branding im afraid. Android has been miles ahead of iOS in terms of flexibility and customisation for years.

There is a lot of it on here from certain people. I think their experience stems from using Android from the start to maybe ICS. Sometimes the comments from them show they clearly haven't used a recent version.
I have the Sony Z tablet and I would say it's far better than the iPad we had. |

I agree, it's like people have been brainwashed and yet when pressed to support their anti android/pro ios views they don't have an answer but still maintain Apple is best. I guess this is a good example of successful advertising and branding on behalf of Apple and their subsequent enslavement of the masses.

The very reason Apple manage to make so much profit, the perception attached to the brand. The positive is the ability to sell middle of the road hardware for huge margins based on the brand. The negative is when that perception is ever lost, what will be their ability to sell purely on merit alone.
I am the first to admit I doubt we will ever see a brand/power like this again. |

And you never find someone will buy an iPhone or an iPad and get told they could have bought an Android device instead?

It's like the people with Macs who sneer at Windows users. "Oh why don't you get a Mac, you'll be so much happier". Until the spinning basketball of death appears and you discover software you need that only works on Windows. No thanks.
![]() I don't know who in their right mind is telling you to "upgrade to an iPhone" from a HTC One M8 ![]() That's like saying why don't you "upgrade" to a Mini Cooper from your Lamborghini LP640 ![]()

That's strange. I wonder why owners aren't willing to promote their android devices?

Interesting, because you devote quite a lot of your time to doing just that.
Usually it is apple fans such as you having a desire to attack people and their posts they don't like as demonstrated here yet again by you. |

I have used a HTC Desire in the past and the only reason I got shot of it was because (at the time) there was limited ROM and a lot of apps couldn't install them on an MicroSD card. Since then it's vastly improved... and I'm considering getting a Moto G when the 4G flavour launches soon... |

Apple products have always been premium devices and as such the brand has a perception of quality.
If looking at iOS Vs Android, then there are a few key differnces; There are countless manufacturers out there making countless android devices, and these vary greatly in quality and specification. with a lot of Android based phones youve got the high end high spec stuff that will match and possibly be better than the iPhone, and at the other end of the market youve got the cheap and cheerful stuff that sells for £40 or so. A lot pf people will have experienced the cheap low end stuff or the mid range stuff that usually cuts corners and feels low/mid range,as opposed to the premium feel/design that you find with Apples range. As most of the main android device manufacturers have a huge range of phones, and are constantly pushing new models out, in most cases you are lucky to get one update to the OS, as soon as you have it in your hand the next model is being anounced and thats the end of any manufacturer support. Apple will continue to update older models for substantially longer than most android OEMs Then theres the manufacturers own take on android, such as touch wizz from samsung, Snese from HTc and so on which can add a further layer of complexity when it comes to updates, from what i understand the Samsung Galaxy S3 will not receive the latest 4.4.x version of android the hardware will run it, but when combined with touchwizz things get a little tight/problematic. |

If I do I only point out actual facts on a forum devoted to mobile phones. You will find this thread is about something completely different.

You remind me of an annoying insect, although even that would probably make a more interesting and varied contribution than you do.
