Did David sell his share of the car lot back to Max? also did he even tell Max he was leaving? as thats not been covered in the show. Not that Max will be bothered as he doesnt seem to do alot of work when hes chasing after women for sex or hes in the pub getting drunk

Carol has said a few times that he has taken his money out of the business, so effectively he has withdrawn his investment and max goes back to being sole owner

well if its that easy then why in past cases have characters actually sold their shares in businesses when they could just take their shares out of the company and run?

Shame, would of liked for him to keep the business giving him a possible reason to return in the future

It only sells about 1 car a year, it is normally just the cars being polished

I really liked the idea of David and Max teaming up together to run their own business, in fact I liked the idea of them as friends in general, so for me I'm sad to see the business go back to being solely owned by Max. I think it's unrealistic that David, after going to all that time and effort to provide for Carol and the family would take all of his money when going though. It seems like it's been done to facilitate for the family to have money problems again more than anything, Carol might have sent David away but they didn't leave in bad terms and he still loves his family, a tad wrong that we're expected to believe he'd deliberately leave them high and dry again.

Just like when Ian tricked Lucy into signing the businesses back over to him, that wouldn't have been valid without independent witnesses to verify it. |

You have to love how Eastenders deals with legal matters. Taking out money doesn't mean Max is automatically promoted to sole owner.

David bought the freehold off of Roxy, who probably forgot she owned it for all these years after inheriting it from Archie.
That David took the money and ran from the business is illegal. It's not his money to take, it's the companies, and presumably couldn't have been approved without Max's say so. This is all hypothetical though, as it's almost definitely a civil matter not a criminal one and Max probably doesn't have the spare cash to find and pursue David while he's out of the country. God knows who Max will pay rent to now, or if the freehold will be addressed. |

Also, it depends on whether they actually signed a partnership agreement. If they did, there will usually be a clause about giving notice (perhaps 90 days) on intent to disolve the partnership. That gives the other party time to set up new financing - you can't just 'withdraw your investment overnight. But I doubt Max and David bothered to get a contract drawn up so basically he can do what he wants and sod the effect on Max. |

Does anyone remember how much David paid for the freehold? It thought it was £100k but that seems too much, I think I'm mistaken.

Don't blame David. He owes the whole sorry bunch nothing after the way they treated him. Same with Janine and her treatment. Would love to see David and Janine return together in a few years time.
