No 4.4.3 on my Nexus 5 yet, but nice to know that others in the UK are receiving it.

Hopefully someday soon my device will discover the update.

Has the already good user experience improved in anyway other than the dialer changes?

No OTA when rooted with TWRP recovery right? Not expecting to see the update, will do update.zip at some point.

There is indeed a different revision. One has bigger speaker holes than the first and a modified power button to stop the rattle.

You have said this on two threads now. If you were a Nexus fan you would know that both the N4 and N5 were revised a couple of months in.

Yep. The Nexus 4 rev 2 added small nubs around the body to stop it sliding when placed on surfaces. The Nexus 5 rev 2 has softened edges, larger speaker holes and an improved button design.

Google only started doing revisions after the Nexus 4 suffered quite a few design flaws. I think it's good that they improve the products based on feedback.

The N4 was in order to let you actually hear the speaker the N5 wasnt, slightly different manufacturing on the speaker holes doesn't warrant a hardware revision.

There are 7,454 changes in the update, detailed here. The dialer is the biggest "visible" change - the majority are bug fixes.

4.4.3 finally arrived on my N4 an hour ago but it is still installing. For a supposedly minor update it is taking forever.

Edit: checked the support forums and if this happens you just need to force a reboot and the update will complete.

I can't really see many changes, even if there are loads 'under the hood' but I am convinced that the phone is faster/snappier than it was (and it was by no means slow before).

It seems more responsive everywhere, and if it was like this before and I'm imagining it then so be it - but the end result is that it's awesome.

(Perhaps one reason I think it's so fast is because I've been using a Galaxy S5 for a while and that's quite sluggish thanks to TouchWiz).

Not sure if this is "just me" but I am sure that the battery is holding up far better post update.

I've been thinking that too. There don't seem to be as many processes keeping the Nexus 5 awake as previously.

It's too early to tell for definite but I think so too. At the moment I'm at 80% following an overnight charge. Usually by this time of day I'm at about 60% and thinking about a top-up charge to get me through the evening.

Quite like the new dialer interface but otherwise I haven't noticed anything different.

Speed and battery are exactly the same. The phone is still bat-shit fast and the battery life is still mediocre. It doesn't surprise me that its faster than a Galaxy S5 though.

I still don't have the 4,4.3 update on my 2012 version of the Nexus 7. Yet my Nexus 4 got the update nearly 5 days ago,

Got the update on my Nexus 7 3G last night. Since it doesn't use the dialier then you'll struggle to notice any differences at all.

I got the update a week or so ago and, apart from the obvious new dialer, the main bug fix for me is that 'play services' behaves itself much better now and I don't need to worry about it sucking up over 40% battery for no reason. I can now have it connected on wifi and battery saving mode in location services all the time without a worry.

2012 N7 update hasn't been pushed by Google as far as I know - no idea why. I flashed the factory image onto mine instead. Seems faster & more stable now.

A week or so on since mine has been updated and my Nexus 5 has gone from being almost faultless to having absolutely rubbish battery life.

Before this, I could go all night and lose no more than 10% drain even with wifi and everything turned on. Now since the update, I lose 5% per hour resulting in a 35-40% drain overnight! and my phone now needs to be charged twice a day.

This is the definite downside to having a nexus, yes you may get updates first but invariably we are beta testers!

The main culprits seem to be android OS and play services.

I've tried turning the gps onto battery saver but that makes no difference. I have since wiped the cache partition from recovery, and am going to see how that goes. Overall not impressed with this update so far.

Play services killed the Xperia Z with KitKat too, and it seemed to require turning GPS off, disabling Now and loads of other things to stop the problems.

Until then, the phone just won't go into deep sleep at all. My wife had 97% usage and the battery died in 10-11 hours with only about 45 minutes screen on time.

I'm getting better battery life with 4.4.3 on my Nexus 5. Overnight battery drain is now down to well under 1% per hour, despite Tasker and Xposed Framework/GravityBox running, together with Wi-Fi, accurate location, etc. turned on.

I'm not seeing that at all either. occasionally i notice higher battery usage, but i just restart it and it's fine.

roughly 1% an hour.
