Does anyone else think that after waiting patiently at home for Ken to return from Canada, and walking Eccles twice a day - Deidre now needs to have a bit of time to focus on herself? I would really love it if she started a degree in art, or a foundation course at the local college. She has an obvious passion arts and creativity...she was so looking forward to the Grayson Perry documentary the other night. And lets not forget her belts...

It put Ken's nose out of joint when she was a natural at pottery - to be rivaling him as the Street's intellectual would be fabulous...

Anyone think the same?

Is Ken actually comlmg back? He seems to have been away much longer than his suspension and is his absence is really noticable during the current Peyer Barlow storyline.

He cares about sick relatives but not his alcoholic son who is being talked about as a murderer

He's slated to return in August.

Because of how far in advance scripts are written that was the first chance they had to reintroduce the character I believe.

I think that would make a good storyline, ambery.

I agree. It would give Deidre a storyline that doesn't revolve around Peter and Tracey. Mostly she's sat at her table having made tea. I'd love to see her at university.

When Ken disappeared Deidre got some good lines, many that were funny. She was becoming a more prominent character and I was liking her. I hope Ken's return doesn't push her into the background again.

I think it's a brilliant idea. I'd love to see Deirdre start a college course. There's so much potential for comedy. Imagine her trying to connect with her classmates by going clubbing, or misreading the lecturer and making a pass at him.

Adam is a young man so I guess he is really, really ill to need his 70 odd year old Grandad to look after him for over a year. In fact I am expecting to be told Adam hasn't made it when Ken returns. The storyline really was awful and hasty.

The reality is that Ken would be rushing back now to help Peter, not waiting another 2 or 3 months. Also if Adam is so ill then how come Peter didn't go and see him, weren't they really close when Adam was little, only Peter knew about him didn't he?

It's time Deirdre had another of her affairs.
She was a right flighty piece in her day.

At one time, nothing in trousers was safe.
Deirdre absolutely loves sex.

She had a lusty look in her eyes the other night I noticed, when she was inviting Peter for a bath with her loose-fitting robe on.
If they weren't 'come to bed' eyes, then I'll be jiggered.
Indeed, if Peter hadn't buggered off sharpish, I've a feeling she have had her knockers 'accidentally' fall out at any minute.

Chesney would be ideal for her next affair.
I appreciate he's a really hard man, a proper street tough who lives by his own rules and that, but in terms of the joys of sex, I'd hazard a guess that he's a bit of a rookie.
Deirdre could teach him all sorts of perverted stuff, really make a man of him.
Sinead too would be thrilled, wondering where he was suddenly getting all these brilliant bedroom ideas from.

Meanwhile, Auntie Beth & Kirky would be green with envy at all the banging and racketing, groans and screams coming from Chesney's bedroom.
They'd be surprised at breakfast time too, when Sinead appeared looking like she'd just ran a triathlon.

Cheers Sorcha.

I see it playing out without the usual anger and repercussions too.

Instead, Corrie could play this one completely different to the norm.

When Deirdre and Chesney get rumbled, rather than be angry, Sinead is really impressed by Chesney's initiative and his thirst for learning.
She immediately buys Deirdre a nice bunch of flowers from Dev's to thank her, and tells her that if ever she needs any sewing done, then she only has to say the word.

Deirdre meanwhile doesn't have to buy a drink all week in the Rovers.
When all the other ladies hear about her bedroom shenanigans with Chesney, they're all dead impressed, and everybody slaps her on the back and says things like ... "Fair play Deirdre ... you cunning old slag you ... you've still got it girl!"

Which really pleases Deirdre, and she sits on a barstool in the Rovers all week looking rightly pleased with herself, all her cleavage showing like.
The only person who's not pleased for her is Liz, she's really jealous.

What a fantastic twist in the tail. You can't go far wrong with sex bomb Deirdre to be fair but I'm sure the plot would be one of the most hyped plots in years

Perhaps bring in a bit of Phelan to keep Liz happy for well a good 2 hours

And I would bet that Deidre does not gloat when Carla discovers that it was her brother, but I almost hope that she does.

They could have said Ken had been invited to lecture at a university for a bit. Be more realistic than a sick relative story!

Me too. I love that she is sticking up for her family and supporting Peter and trying to help him. A true matriarch.

Ken will need to watch as Deirdre's has had her eye on other guys while he's been away. Ken will need to satisfy her needs as I bet she's fustrated. Maybe Rob had heard the rabbit vibrating so maybe that's why he flirts with her.
