You like Neo, you are reading my post wrong. i never said technology was confusing. i should have put it better i suppose, but what I meant to say was that it all being different confuses people.
Lg is different to Sony, Samsung got a different system compared to Panasonic, that is the confusion. Maybe this Freeview connect would get some sort of standard UI and have some sort of standard apps, if that is the right word to use.
While I have no interest myself in a so called smart Tv, if I wanted one then it would need Netflix, but then the TV I like may not have netflix. this is why i think the best way is for a external box. i use my PS3, ok it is a bit over the top for just netflix, but I also use it for a media centre. for me that is more useful than a smart Tv as a lot of them are to be honest useless. i see some sets got faster processors now, but it is also about memory as well.

It is just going to be a new interface, that they want to make a standard, but I doubt it will come to much.
All the money that was spent on you View and the only reason it is still going is because it is offered almost for zero cost by two ISPs. Yet, the BBc is still ploughing public money into it.
All these extras, are just a way of putting the prices up for people who don't want them.
