She means no harm with her view, but you do when you point a finger and call someone a racist or a homophobic. You know exactly what effect your name calling will have. Mob rule.

Haven't read this whole discussion yet but, my opinion is:

If she could decide, she would probably make gay marriage illegal, because she doesn't believe in it.
That is denying a minority their rights.
That is discrimination.
And because it is against LGBT community it is homophobic.
She is homophobic, in my eyes.

If her view isn't harmful then neither is my view of thinking she's a homophobe. It goes both ways.

Liberals love name calling, it makes them feel superior maybe. Agree with my views or I will call you lots of names.

IF she is a true practising Catholic, the Catholic church indeed does view homosexuality as an orientation that is considered an "objective disorder" because seen as "ordered toward an intrinsic moral evil"
