As per normal, a completely pointless and biased post in the first place.”

The implication was that last years model might not have a HEVC codec so the post was neither pointless nor biased. My posts are never biased anyway.

See post 5. So even though you never mentioned this and it was by no means clear the OP was even considering a 4K set your post was

Misleading

Added nothing already posted to this thread.

The tone of the original wording was very clear.

I have a "40 Samsung F7000. I can't complain. The Pic Quality is very good. If you have a good Broadband set-up then that will benefit if you wish that surf the net on your Panel.

Thanks guys for your help so far. Next question is about the Netflix app. Do all the Smart tv's have it? I know it sounds like a daft question, but having looked at reviews of various sets some don't have it or it doesn't work particularly well on them. I'm also slightly nervous about it not working if and when Netflix update etc.

I've just bought a Sony 4K set and am currently on a month's Netflix trial (there's a Netflix button on the remote which takes you straight to the service). There's little 4K content yet but the documentary type nature films are stunning. I'm currently half way through the 1st series of House of Cards (US version) which is in 1080(p?), the second series is 4K so it wil be interesting to see the difference.

The main downside I suppose is that I think a 15Mbps download speed is required for Netflix 4K streaming.
