John Stape and Tony Gordon were my two favourites. We all knew John's heart was in the right place despite his idiotic mistakes and his guilt and mental breakdowns redeemed him in my eyes. Typically the law just placed the label "murderer" on him and ignored everything else and everyone's initial reaction was to think he was the "devil" and his suffering (though he brought it on himself) was swept under the carpet until Fiz finally found it in her heart to forgive him.
With Tony Gordon I initially disliked him but found him interesting to watch, but after Carla left him and he fell in love with Maria and grew to love baby Liam as his own, I started to like him and feel sorry for him so I was saddened when he finally handed himself in and everyone said he was a "monster" - I don't think he was really. It's a shame he acted "holier than thou" with Carla and didn't show her his vurnerability when she confronted him over his relationship with Maria but Carla did accept towards the very end that he really did love Maria. If only the idiot hadn't blabbed to Roy, he could have had everything.
I initially found Browning interesting with his fascinating obsession with Mercedes and I saw how the Lynsey Nolan murder happened in the heat of the moment and that she was very provocative (not that this excuses what Browning did) but they ruined him later on and he was beyond redemption when he tried to kill Myra.
