I agree. They will keep teasing us, pointing the finger at various regulars, but it will turn out to have something to do with Charlie and Nick.
My guess is, is that whoever did it must have been in the pub when Ian was shouting at Billy. Ian shouted that Billy must have Lucy's purse and mobile still on him. At the end of the episode we see someone burying a purse and mobile. This, of course, could be a red herring....I really have no ideas.

i think Rainie was only with Ian after she had killed lucy already, i think lucy was getting the drugs off her , and Dean was dodgy when he was living with stan selling stolen stuff, and could easily have been selling drugs as well , so lucy could have met either off them, thats my theory anyway

Because the murder will be centred around the 30th anniversary, I fully expect the culprit to be one of EastEnders' legendary or long-serving characters. That means it will either be Nick, Phil or Ian. I would have said Peter, previously, but that wouldn't work given his reaction.
I think it will be Nick, but Phil (who I think was the one burying the phone and wallet), and possibly Charlie, will have had something to so with it as well.

I do still think there was a reason why Dean was in one episode (Lucy's last week) and then we didn't see him for a month......

I think it was peter who buried her stuff and phil was involved......at start of Friday phil asked peter if he had managed to sort everything out
nick cotton-as in episode one he was responsible for a death. come full circle to 3o years later and he has done the same thing
ian beal-by association. he was going to buy drugs for lucy off a tom when he saw rainie. he keeps repeating "I wont have my little girl remembered like that" as if there is more to the story
it is NOT jay, ben, lauren or cindy
peter beale-is an outsider and if so the death of his sister was an accident and in some way related to the fall in max' cabin. in this theory I m including whitney and max
