@Radical Joe Yes, I still work for Sir John Soane's Museum.”

Good news. I pop in there roughly twice a year; it's like stepping back into the past with the layout of the house, the way the exhibits are positioned and the candlelights. Never seen you there yet. Perhaps next time.

@Radical Joe I usually work there from 12:00 - 17:00 Tuesdays to Fridays and 10:00 - 17:00 on Saturdays (but it can vary - I was there until 22:00 yesterday for instance but the last few hours were a special event).

We all get rotated from room to room and particularly the little team I'm in so I could be anywhere from the Picture Room to the Cloakroom to the Crypt to standing at the gate. Do feel free to make yourself known if you see me next time if you want to

That was during BB's brief infatuation with putting bonkers middle aged people in as late entrants. Jayne, Jonty and Belinda all ticked a certain box.

I always though munkety tunketty was more interesting than Jonty, munketty was like the monkey world answer to Zippy from Rainbow

Which of your ex housemates are you still in contact with?

@hmeister

Hello!

The main two I've been in contact with over the years are Eugene from 2005 and Carole from my series (2007). I did regularly see Liam (now called Zack) from "Big Brother: Celebrity Hijack" (2008) but he seems to've gone onto bigger and better things and has disappeared from the "BB" circuit.

The best,

Jonty

Hi Jonty!
Hope Munkitty Tunkitty is well.
You and Eugene (the Morse Code Man) are the kind of 'old skool' BB characters that are sorely missed these days.
Last year was particularily bad.... every other HM was desperate to be on the covers of trashy mags like 'Heat', 'OK' and 'GQ'.
Who do you think you'd have got on with from this years bunch?

Jonty was one of my favorites that year. Yes, he could get silly, especially after a bit of drink, but generally he could be counted on to have a gentle, kind, interesting discussion with just about any housemate. Those low-key moments on live feed when HMs relax and have interesting conversations are my favorite BB memories. I don't like the screaming fights, or people saying nasty things about others, or cruel people trying to get a reaction out of someone for the cameras.

Jonty was very good at calming people down and helping them see things from another perspective. He was also very well informed about history and politics! All in all, a very nice HM. I do wish that Big Brother and some of the other HMs had treated him better. But then BB isn't known for his consideration, is he?

I found the teddy thing creepy and disturbing.

Wasn't he in the same house as carol and ziggy. , bad series.

@Crocodile Tears I'd have had a crack at getting on with all of them. It's very rare I see someone and think, "Thank goodness I wasn't on with them". It has happened occasionally, though, such as when Rex was on a few years back. However I met him and the feeling was mutual - he said, right in fron of me, "I'm glad I wasn't on with that man - I think I'd have committed suicide and I'm not even joking, either". No, I don't suppose he was.

But this year's lot seem nice enough. I think I might have found Tamara's views on vegetarians not quite in tune with mine, though!

The best,

Jonty

When she went in Marcus said that she didn't' want to live with vegetarians or people who supported animal rights. I thought that was a horrific thing to say, since if you flip the coin and think about what it means, you have to wonder what type of people she DOES want to live with?

Nice to see Rex hasn't changed. Still a sad, arrogant person. Jonty you were alright. It was unfortunate you were part of the group of halfway housemates who Carol wanted gone as soon as they arrived. Well she got her way but you got to stay a little longer than the rest of them, I guess because you were the most likeable.

I agree. Being vegetarian myself I think she and I might have clashed on that issue. I got the impression we might have clashed on the alternative energy market too. And possibly on the welfare state - some people tell me I'm rightward-leaning on the latter but I feel I'd have seemed like a Communist next to her.

Thanks again to all those making nice comments. And to the others, you're entitled to your opinions - 'tis what democracy is all about

I can't tell whether you know you are actually talking to Jonty or not. If you do, that is pretty rude as well.

I believe the show set him up on a few occasions; inviting him on with a certain reason, but in reality just wanted to take the micky.
Good on Jonty for always taking it in good spirit.

Be seeing you
