If Neymar gets injured or sent off Brazil are nothing special up front & will struggle. A side note, the world cup is not popular in Brazil, the majority feel it's a waste of money, if Brazil get knocked out...... |

Brazil are clearly favourites to win the group but still lots of interest (for me anyway) in which other team will get through.
Croatia and Mexico seem pretty evenly matched - Croatia don't seem as strong as they have been in previous competitions and Mexico have some decent players. And who knows, Cameroon might even have a shot of progressing with Samuel Eto'o up front. |

Not so sure about that, Croatia & Mexico are a good sides, Croatia will have problems with the heat & Mexico's defense might struggle against Neymar.

I think Croatia will finish 2nd and be quite dangerous. I don't rate this Mexico side though, and I think they'll finish bottom.

Brazil will obviously win the group barring several major upsets. 9 points is possible.
Croatia and Mexico will battle it out for second, I'm expecting Croatia to edge it when they compete head-on as Mexico aren't in the greatest shape and Croatia seem to be having a slight resurgence. Cameroon will sadly be the punching bag as far as I'm concerned, I feel confident everyone will beat them. Predicted table: Brazil - 9 Croatia - 6 Mexico - 3 Cameroon - 0 |

The Croatian midfield is extremely decent. I'd have them down to finish second, behind Brazil.

I think Croatia could be an outside bet to win this group. They look a solid enough side with lots of talent in midfield and they could easily exploit Brazilian nervousness in the opening game.

BIB - That's how the majority of English people felt about the 2012 Olympics and look how great that went. The Brazilians will come around once it starts.
I don't recall the British team bus getting attacked, I don' remember the prime minister talking about "unamed plots" to de-stabilize the country. A few nitwits in tweed jackets mouthing off about the London Olympics to which ever fool is dumb enough to listen, did not mean the games were un popular. As with most things in British society, the general public were ambivalent. |

Did you know in their last 10 games Brazil have scored 30 goals? Out of those 30 goals, Neymar scored just 7. Of course, Neymar is (most of the time) a great player and yes Brazil would be weaker without him but to say they would struggle without him is, in my opinion, ridiculous. The goals come from everywhere not just Neymar.
Saying the goals come from everywhere when playing friendlies against teams like Panama is imo a form of madness. |

There is a lot of pressure on Brazil, I can see them losing the opening game tomorrow night.
I'd expect them to bounce back, but with Eto for Cameroon and Hernandez for Mexico, both players who can produce something special from nothing, this could well turn out to be one of the tightest groups. |

When does the pre-show start tonight?
ITV start their WC show at 7pm but I don't want to sit there watching people talk about the game 2 hours before kick off. |

What would happen if - in some bizzarre circumstances - Brazil failed to get out of the group stages? :O

Then two other teams would go through and play in the knockout rounds.

![]() I meant do we think there'll be some sort of uproar or backlash against the team from the country? After all the controversy over Brazil hosting the tournament and all the pressure on the team to be a success, if they failed to get out the group stages it would be a massive dissapointment and they'd pretty much be a laughing stock. It's unlikely to happen but I'm sort of fascinated to see what would happen if they did **** things up.

Croatia to win 1-0, 0-0 half time, then score a fluke goal 66min.
