Should have saw that coming.

I meant do we think there'll be some sort of uproar or backlash against the team from the country? After all the controversy over Brazil hosting the tournament and all the pressure on the team to be a success, if they failed to get out the group stages it would be a massive dissapointment and they'd pretty much be a laughing stock. It's unlikely to happen but I'm sort of fascinated to see what would happen if they did **** things up.
Yeah, the Brazilian fans would likely be quite angry with the team unless they win. I guess that is more of a problem for the domestic based players, those based abroad would probably just flee.

Can see Croatia putting up a fight but will say 2-0 Brazil.

Looking forward to this, should be a good opening game and opening ceremony hopefully. Croatia are a good team with dangerous players like Modrić and Mandžukić, I think Brazil will have too much quality though. I don't think they'll feel the extra pressure of being at home, 3-1 Brazil.

Yeah your right, I should have checked up beforehand. They still have Eduardo up front, Mandzukic will be a big loss for them though.

Brazil- 9 points (should win all their games easily)
Mexico- 4 points (I think they'll cope with the heat better than Croatia)
Croatia- 2 points
Cameroon- 1 point

Will Croatia have Mandzukic back for both of their remaining group games?

Based on last nights game they played well but could have done with a bit more firepower up front, Jelavic was pretty ineffective.

I think he'll be back for the next game. I expect them to still qualify - too much quality in the middle of the park, their midfield is better than Brazil's.

Was it just me or did anyone else think Brazil didn't actually look that good? I think I've over rated them a bit. They were lucky to win last night.

No it wasn't just you. Neymar and Oscar looked OK but their other 2 strikers, Fred and the appropriately named Hulk looked very ordinary. Their defence looked a bit dodgy too.

Then again if they keep on getting the benfit of dodgy refereeing decisions they could still go all the way...

Croatia looked really good in midfield but they need to dump the keeper, Subasic must be better than Pletikosa who had a terrible game. Mandzukic in for Jelavic now his suspension is served will be a big upgrade too. If they can make those changes then they really should qualify in a weak group.

The Mexican coach apparently favours players from the Mexican domestic league.

Agreed. After the own goal and Neymar getting booked I was starting to think we could see a major upset.

I was really impressed with Croatia's defence for the first half. Brazil were relentless but they managed to block basically every shot. Neymar's first goal was pretty weak and the penalty was due to a crap keeper but Oscar was fantastic. Never expected that from him.
