For the record I think World Class is an overused expression too, but you're looking at it far too narrowly if you believe those two are the only players it applies to. Bayern don't have any World Class players then, for example?”
As long as they are around the bench mark for World Class is going to be very high. Of course when those two players no longer play there will be a different bench mark for "World Class" as it was before they got to where they are now.
Of course we can have world class players in other positions but I just don't see anyone around at the moment who are miles ahead of everyone else in that position.
Messi and Ronaldo will start to fade sooner or later. In 5 years time players like Hazzard will be the benchmark for being World Class, Today its Messi and Ronaldo.
In the past it was Pele and Maradonna. World Class has to be a very small exclusive club, A small handful of players who on a different level then anyone else.
We have seen "world class" keepers/defenders/midfielders etc in the past and hopefully will do again
Bayern have some fantastic amazing players who are among the best players in the world but for me World Class has to a totally different level.
