He was kind of right though. Yes Chelsea fans applauded him off but for the preceding 70 mins had constantly sang mocking him and even waved those slip hazzard cards at him.
So him saying what he said was an honest way of how he was feeling I'd say.

Agree about Cuadrado, although he needs a bit more time. Hazard needed no time, and Willian is looking a lot better now. The difference between Serie A and the PL. Salah is doing very well in Italy and that says a lot.

I don't really blame him.
I do think there are issues between the two of them, I think it's that and him slowly realising his abilities are fading.
Think even with Lamps going to City the way his time with us ended so much better then his is ending with Liverpool.

Yes, but where's the famous Scouse sense of humour ? The cards and songs were a joke, and I think Chelsea fans did give him a fairly warm farewell. It's all a matter of perspective of course, I wonder if Liverpool fans will be as gracious at Anfield when John Terry decides to call it a day ?

Yes, I certainly agree with that. That's why I'm trying not to get too excited about Pogba. He is undoubtedly a great prospect, but a lot of the amazing stuff you see on YouTube has been against pretty mediocre opposition. As you say, Salah suddenly looks world class in Serie A. In the PL he looked very ordinary, probably worse than Moses.
The WBA game has nothing on it for either team so hopefully a couple of youngsters will get game time.

The thing is it is not a joke to Stevie, that slip I am sure prob still haunts him, he will know the importance of that and to have it sung for 70 mins and the "silly" cards showed of the slip hazzard (have you/they forgotten JT's pen miss?) I am sure made any end result of the applause irrelevant to him. What one can pass off as a joke isn't to others. I mean what if SG comes out and says his comment about "good of them to turn up today" was just a joke? Not a dig, just a joke? You wouldn't believe it I'm sure.
End result he doesn't have to lie about it, if he wasn't bothered by the Chelsea fans applause he can say it. JT got a great reception at Anfield in the Allstars game recently, I'm sure he'll get a fine reception when that day comes

I'll tell you what an ovation is. A few weeks ago Anfield hosted a match, and playing in that match was Drogba, Terry, Torres, along with Alonso, Suarez, Carragher - just for starters. Every single one of those players were applauded onto the match, hell, Terry even had a bit of banter going with the Kop - everyone appreciating the best footballers and showing it. No one was singing about a slip (something every single player has has at least 5 times), or holding up 'PLASTIC' notes on him slipping -cyea, real class that. I bet Jose was so proud of his clubs so called fans. Stevie G put this match together at Anfield, and it was a day out I will never forget - ask John Terry what he thinks of your pre-ovation for his mate.
Anyhow, frankly I don't give a shit what you think, but to state Gerrard has no class? Nah, that so needs picking up on.

LOL. Given the banal chant he's had to put up with for 12 months after an unfortunate slip cost him a dream, I don't blame him. The begrudging "ovation" was due to Mourinho's prompting after an initial far less respectful reaction. Fans seem to think they can give out dog's abuse week-in, week-out and not expect anything in return. If you really want to know how classy Chelsea's fans are, watch the Carling Cup semi at the Bridge back and listen out for the abuse aimed at Sterling after one particular foul, picked up by the effects mike. It's in the John Terry book of class, let's say.
Just enjoy your title win and stop trying to gather faux plaudits. After this season's various events, I can understand trying to cling to any shred of class you can but to not allow Gerrard the reply of reply is like the bully running to the teacher, frankly.

It's not all about money and trophies when the ultimatum comes. If Chelsea hadn't come into money, I wonder how Terry would have felt if mulling over a big money move? Who knows. Gerrard was successful enough to look back on his career with pride. Any title win with Chelsea, Mourinho's Inter or Real Madrid would not have been solely down to him and would've been far less cherished than winning a title for the club he loves - if he'd managed it last season, he was a massive part of it happening - that's why just falling short broke him mentally and physically to be honest. I can't see Jose not wanting a result against Sunderland after they pretty much put a nail in the coffin of your title hopes last season.
I would hope he would want to win against Sunderland since they could still go down etc. Its important we play the game as we would if it came halfway though the season. We owe it to the other teams involved in the relegation fight.
