I've been called a troll and a moron for simply giving my opinion on negative football and the below par quality of the top teams.

There is no such thing as negative football, the media should use it by its proper names, "strategy" or "tactics".

Thankfully there are some pundits just cottoning on that in order to win the league strategy and tactics do have to play a part - especially when you are playing your rivals or your top striker is injured and you have to play a 38 yr old forward.

Chelsea played wonderful football right up to the point where we found out that we should win the league. In the past couple of years we have been losing games we should have won, this season we have been turning them into wins/ draws. This has allowed us to get 13 points clear, score the most goals, win the most games with 3 to go.

It is up to the opposition to catch up, but we must press on.

Jose is very hit and miss in the transfer market. Cudrado looks absolutely awful for the price paid, but Costa and Cesc have won us the league.

But given there's no love lost between our respective fans, I thought we were as fair as could be expected when he left the pitch. Opposing fans will continue to have a go and take the piss out of Terry until he hangs up his boots, that's to be expected. Hopefully, those same fans will be able to forgive and forget when he finally waves goodbye.
It's no big deal for us of course, but I think all fair minded fans like to see a genuine PL legend (even from the "enemy") given a good send-off. I thought we did ok yesterday, even if it needed a bit of prompting from Jose to get a few sections on their feet.

Most were "when he left the pitch", no arguments there but that, in my mind anyhow , doesn't excuse the stick they'd given him all game, and previously. Therefore I think he gave an honest appraisal of it to the reporter, perhaps the dig a bit...... .. but he'd just finished a match that he'd been subbed in, given dogs abuse by Chelsea fans who in my opinion should have been far too happy celebrating the PL win rather than baiting Gerrard all game, so I don't think he needed to give them any special praise.
As for JT, I'm not a big fan obv ha, but I'd like to think, as you say, when he hangs his boots up for good he will be given decent receptions, however I'd find it pointless abusing him for 78 mins then giving him a standing ovation, I'd much rather not abuse him and quietly applaud him on his way, less hypocritical.

When John Terry came to Anfield about 6 weeks ago, by invite from Gerrard for a charity match, he was applauded onto, and off the pitch. Even enjoyed a bit of banter with the Kop end and really enjoyed himself, as did Drogba and Torres. The crowd was all LFC fans, and they got applause from all the players when they left, every last one of them with their families on the pitch. Now, THAT is how you send off a top PL player. Give them to Anfield, we know how to do it right, and we're not 2 faced.

Rival team gives champions guard of honour as they come onto the pitch - which they did not have to = classy.

Fans of said champions spend the majority of their first home match after winning the league not chanting about their success but doing a chant and waving cards mocking the captain of the team who had just given them a guard of honour = classless.

And for the record he did not slam them - he thanked them but said that they have spent years slaughtering him and then applauded him for 2 seconds which was factually exactly what happened.

I think you will find that photo was taken in January 2011 when Torres left for Chelsea, the dated shirts are a giveaway too. All the more reason to appreciate the welcome back to Anfield he received in March this year. He was over the moon that the Kop once again sang HIS song - class!

Yes, but that was a charity game. Next time John Terry is at Anfield it will be "business as usual" and I don't suppose he'll be expecting anything different. Most of the stuff yesterday was meant to be humorous, but I can understand Gerrard not seeing the funny side of it. But that's the price you pay for being such an important and iconic figure for your club, opposition fans are going to get at you in any way they can.
I'm sure the majority of Livepool fans will applaud Terry off the field when he appears for the last time, same as the majority of Chelsea fans did for Steven Gerrard yesterday. There will always be a few classless idiots who make obscene gestures and chants, but they are a tiny minority.

Anyway, Gerrard was a fantastic player for Liverpool. I don't think he would have been such a good "fit" for Chelsea even if we had been successful in persuading him to sign. Lampard and Gerrard looks good on paper, but they wouldn't have worked together in practice. The likes of Ballack and Essien gave us a better balance. But even in decline at Liverpool Gerrard remained an important player, they will be big boots to fill.

Lets face it, Chelsea and Liverpool just seem to rub each other up the wrong way.

The more I see of Zouma the more I think he won't be good enough at the top level.
His movement is just too lumbering. I can see him being found out by nippy, agile fowards.

I think Zouma will be ok. I know what you mean but he's a lot quicker than you think. You often get that look with youngsters who have sprouted up very quickly. When he matures into Marcel Dessailly 2 we'll all be happy.
