You earn the right to do this over the season. The game last night had nothing on it whatsoever, nothing at all. It was a dead rubber.
In actual fact with Cesc not playing, it has hurt the teams like newcastle and hull as we will not be able to play our best side. The ref should have applied some common sense, but he wanted to make a name for himself. I guess the FA are going to make it even harder for us to win next season. Expect terry and costa to be sent of next weekend. Imagine the shitstorm if Newcastle were relegated as a result. Give the press plenty to write about and the FA something to consider.

Only one person was to blame for the sending off and it was not the ref, Last nights game might have been a dead rubber but Sunday's game is not one of those. There is something on this game |

Because you need to respect the league and competition. Our last game still has a part to play with regards to other teams in the league. As champions we have to show respect to the other teams that our result effects.
Chelsea have earned the right to play whoever they want. They could put out a c team and play like they are on the beach and lose 5-0 to sunderland. Thats absolutely fine. Its exactly like villa fielding a weakened team in the league because of an FA cup semi final previously in the season etc |

And yet its interesting that this never applies to the other 37 games in a season.

Or this idiotic idea that unseen forces are after us? We could ask Kerry Dixon and John Bumpstead to play that doesn't make it right. Put your best players out they win they win, they lose they lose. They all get red cards? They all get red cards, They all break their legs (due to members of The FA attack them with metal bars) then so be it, all part of football. |

It is a shame that red cards in this season carry over to the next.
Do red cards in arsenals next game mean they will miss the FA cup final? |

Do red cards in arsenals next game mean they will miss the FA cup final? I'm assuming the 2nd game of Fabregas' suspension will just be the Community Shield? If so at least it's only one PL game he'll miss at the start of next season. |

If JT had had a Red Card, would he have lifted the trophy in his kit?

It would be absolutely 100% right as club captain for him to lift the trophy, and if he wants to do that in his kit then thats absolutely fine. It makes no sense for him to be in a suit. Other players do this all the time, but i guess they dont get the media attention JT does. |

That would depend on the rules regarding being on the pitch. If the rules was the same as it was for the Champions League then yes he would have had to.

New signings?
Jose Mourhino has said he wants to keep his whole squad. Imo, the one weakness that Jose has is that he's too conservative at times. Even when they'd won a PL / CL double or a treble, the best teams in the past knew they had to improve and brought new players in, especially up front.
Top of my list without any doubt would be Raheem Sterling. It would take pressure off Hazard, he has lightning pace and would create a lot of problems for any opposition. He also takes risks and Chelsea need to do that more. Imo, the team has to start to attack more. Not kamikaze style leaving huge holes at the back, but measured, balanced, precise attacking. The game against West Brom was pretty meaningless, but it showed the team's weaknesses. Playing too narrow, very few players willing to try and beat a man and get in behind, same old, same old ott aggression from Costa and all in all, too much caution. Oscar sold? Cuadrado sold or out on loan, and a proven PL player brought in up front. |

Usain Bolt has speed, Prob more talented and cheaper then Sterling, Then again he would prob only sign for Utd sadly. We have not wasted money on a English player for ages maybe we should sign Sterling for old times sake.

Fabregas will only serve a 1 match ban.
Sterling is a player I'd like us to sign, but the cost would be ridiculously high. |

Glad we appealed the length of the ban and not the ban itself.
I don't think we would have had grounds to overturn the card (and might have been punished for trying to). |

He is no better than Shaun Wright-Phillips or Aaron Lennon were at his age. Personally, i don't think he is good enough for any of the top sides yet. The level he is at right now is his level. |

We need to sign players who will help us close the gap between Bayern, Real Madrid and Barcelona and Sterling does not fit that bill. Unless we sign another top CM in the summer, you can bet your house that Mourinho would line up with Hazard/Fabregas/Willian as his default attacking line up.

A massive step back in the excellent and sensible transfer policy we have put into place recently. |

I really don't think we should be contemplating Sterling at £40-£50m. He has enormous potential, but it would still be a massive gamble. We could all name players who looked destined for greatness at 19/20 years old who failed to make the grade. Can we be sure Sterling will make it ? He looked great when Suarez was with Liverpool, but he's often disappeared in games this season.
We are being linked with Griezmann for the same kind of money, and I think that would make more sense. Griezmann has come on tremendously with Simeone at Atletico, and he's a manager with a very similar attitude to players as Mourinho. He's physically stronger than Sterling, with terrific pace and he's more of a natural goalscorer. We also have a good relationship with Atletico, Jose shares the same agent with Griezmann, so it could be a smooth transaction with maybe Luis going back the other way. There also seems some mileage in the rumours about Imbula joining us from Marseille. It looks like we might be able to pick him up for less than £10m, which would be a steal. Marseille are keen to open up a relationship with Chelsea for loan players and figure if they have to sell, this could be an opportunity to set up something mutually advantageous. Imbula looks ok to me, incredibly strong, a kind of cut-price Essien. He would provide cover for Matic, or even play alongside. His true market value is probably £20m+, so I'm up for that deal if it comes off. |

I think that went out of the window the moment we signed Cuadrado!
You never know with any transfer and it could go either way. The only way a signing like Pogba would make sense is if we sold Hazzard and that is not going to happen. The most we should be paying for players nowadays is 30mish unless it's Ronaldo or Messi |

However, relying on the top teams to remain well below par and scratching out ugly one goal victories really is not the way forward! |

Hazard is by far our best attacking and creative player, but even he doesn't dominate in the big games the way a footballer of the year and a so called top 3 player in the eotld should be doing. For all his quality, Cesc is extremely hit and miss and goes AWOL far too often. And then there's the 10,000 metre runner who carries as much threat in the final third of the pitch as my mum would do. |
