I guess this is the problem of living on the Kings road.

Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool can all build on basically the dump and waste grounds surrounding them.

a favour between friends maybe (mendes and mourinho), other then that i don't see the logic really...

He's replacing 37 year old Droga who I think scored 5 goals last season, some of them crucial mind.
He has 3 strikers again and that's all he normally has.
Costa was over played last season so I can see Remy and Falcao getting game time.
Not that I am saying it's going to be a success, I don't see it as that much of a risk.

Yes because the board sanction signings based on favors

Agreed. If he replicates or betters what Drogba did last season, then Chelsea will see it as a gamble that was worth taking.

I think most United fans will wish him no ill-fortune, but based on what he produced last season, it would have simply been impossible for us to justify signing him permanently for what he would have cost. I couldn't fault his effort while with us, but frankly there were times he looked like he was struggling to walk, let alone run.

There are various reports that Loic Remy is "considering his position" after the confirmation of Falcao's impending arrival.
That is exactly what many Chelsea fans had feared might happen. I hope it just turns out to be speculation, if Remy leaves the Falcao deal will really leave a sour taste.

Swansea at home is not a bad start to the season

And Leicester at home in the final game too, a decent fixture to have if the title goes down to the wire. I'm happy with that list, there's no particularly bad run of games all season and like last season we get most of the tougher away trips out of the way during the first few months.

I do appreciate the problems of building on our land locked stadium.
But, why can't they redevelop one part of the stadium at a time and keep the rest of it open They did just that when they built the East stand.

They are also sorting out the link between Fulham Broadway and the ground.

Its totally different to when they built the east stand.

Doing it in stages makes no sense, Much better to get it all done in one go.

Its a massive project if the rumours are true (more so if the pictures I have seen are genuine)

And sounds like it's going to cost a bleeding fortun as well!

And to think the Chelsea pitch owners expressed concern about Roman's longtern plans. All this, and what he's done, and he still hasn't even got a toilet named after him.

It wont be cheap that's for sure.

But it has to be done and we are at a place now (on the pitch) where the timing is perfect.

Hopefully the redevelopment will give us a chance to rename certain parts of the ground to names more deserving (a certain entrance named after a midfielder for a start should be changed)

Because the club and the ground was separated.

If he wants to own the ground he needs to BUY the ground.

If I think he should be the owner or not is not important.

Do I think people who have paid for something should give it to someone for free? No I don't

Agreed. For those of us that owned shares in the club itself we were paid for them back in 2003, so it should be no different if he wants what the CPO have.

Yep, if you paid £1000 then you get your grand back.

Not saying for a second C.P.O members should make any money (don't think they can anyway) but they should be given what they invested.

As much as Roman saved the club and is responsible for where we are today so did the people who put money in to the C.P.O and gave money during the "Safe The Bridge" days. Without Roman we would not be here today IMO we would not have been have been where we was when he did buy us without them

Also, it's not in our interest to be playing in a 3 sided stadium with a smaller attendance.
Better to leave the stadium while its get completed.

To be fair that's what was offered last time around, money back.
There was no new stadium plan at the time hence it was rejected.
It was just sell your shares and let's see what happens. The club hadn't thought it through. Now with a proper plan it maybe different.

I know people aren't that excited about Falcao, and it is a little hard to be given his poor season. However, its fair to say he was the best striker in the world only a few years ago, it feels worth a gamble.

We aren't paying over the odds as its only a loan deal, he seems a more than adequete replacement for Drogba. His previous partnership with Costa will also be a bonus. Overall, not a terrible signing at all. If we can get him fit and healthy and banging in goals agian he could well be the signing of the season. Or he could be another Torres(that we can get rid of after a year)

Also with the rumours of Costa being home sick maybe having someone like him there will help?

Torres was seen as the same thing about 6 months before he signed for us.

Fitness isn't Falcao's problem, his fitness is fine, it's what he has lost that is the worry. Not many players who pick up a cruciate ligament injury at his age get back to their best. It doesn't matter how much you do you just can't regain what made you the player you was before the injury.

Falcao has lost everything that made him great. The evidence was there for all to see at United.

He was pretty crap again tonight against Brazil for Columbia too.

Those rumours were rubbish. There were no actual quotes, just rubbish created to sell papers because there was nothing to report.

Not saying for a second they was true but and even if not true signing a player who has a relationship with Costa wouldn't be a bad thing
